• What's it going to take to get me into the 14's?

I just ran a best of 15.149 saturday. I'm thinking if I can get the same track conditions, etc, I can break into the 14's with minimal mods (14.99x I mean)

All I have right now is a K&N filter, and a flowmaster exhaust. I might be able to get there with a Lid and aluminum driveshaft. I only need to pick up about a tenth and a half, what do you guys think?

A Whisper lid and maybe CAI and maybe some tires.. (what tires are you running?) Should get you well into the 14's.
2000 Firebird. Whisper Lid, True duals, TSP mail order tune, Built Tranny , TCI 2800 stall verter, B&M tranny cooler, Eaton LSD, 3.42 gears. Current best ET. 15.232 89.09 MPH 2.175 60ft on stock 3.42\'s and open diff.<a href=\"http://www.geocities.c

I think both of those mods should work... can you launch it any harder?

Maybe cleaning out the car, jack, spare, all garbage... empty washer fluid, run low low gas. I think that might make it.

Doesn't it make racing so much more exciting when you have a goal to go after and you are close to ie

Which street tires? You could go to some Ultra high performance street tires, and increase traction.

P235's, Goodyear GT II's or something like that. They have around 50% tread or less left on them. I don't think I can launch much harder without spinning, MustangEater. I had a little less than 1/4 tank when I ran the 15.1. I didn't want to take out my jack, spare, back and passenger seats because that is not how I would be on the street.

Get a lid and do the Free Ram Air mod.. it will help some. I'm getting ready to do that before I go to the track Friday night. I'm hoping for 14's next time out. I better get it with the stuff I just added... :D

With all the other members already in the 14's and lower, man there have been a lot of miracles.

It won't take much, maybe if you get lucky with better air and track conditions it could happen..a whisper lid alone may get you there. I'm trying for 14s as well...

A lid and the SLP style underchin ram air (or a homemade version of it) should be enough to do it.

What kind of 60' are you running? the GT II's are a touring tire - mom used those on her family sedan.

Look into picking up a set of Nitto or BFG DR's - you can mount them on 15x7 thirdgen wheels which you can grab from any junkyard for $20-$30.

Me too at the moment I'm having some tuning issues though. I'm pulling low 2.1's after the mods.. I should be pulling 1.9's or lower.. Oh well I'll get it running right then loook out.. :D
