Before my exhaust, I did a 15.4 g-tech with a chopped 97 airbox, K&N, ported/polished TB/MAF, and a hole in my exhaust just before the cat. Even with the severe lack of torque, due to the almost open y-pipe, the car STILL spun through first gear (making my 15.4 pretty much null if I can launch properly next time). I have a non-y87 automatic. So 3.08 gears and an open diff.

I just got my car back yesterday. I've got 3" mandrel from the y-pipe (cat removed) to the muffler, then a Flowmaster 80 series and dual 2.5" tailpipes. The car feels much faster, and still spins the tires very eagerly, moreso than the open pipe did. I'm wondering how much the new exhaust system, along with 3.42s and LSD will net me... I'm aiming for a 14.9 to start. I need to get a good launch though.

    14.9 sound unreasonable?

You lost all validity of your post when you said "Before my exhaust, I did a 15.4 g-tech" I read no further.

        1st G-Tech's are unreliable.
2nd I'd say you'll probably run mid 15's with 3.08's being in there

I know, I know, G-Techs aren't very accurate. Don't get me wrong, I fully intend on taking it to the track. But until that time comes, the G-Tech is the only way I can see if my vehicle is making any gains at all.

First time I G-Teched, I ran a 16.1 @ 87 MPH. That was when I first bought the car. My most recent one was 15.4 @ 93.6 MPH, spinning through first. I see nothing wrong comparing a g-tech run to a g-tech run to measure gains, as long as you're not claiming it to be your official ET, do you?

ET, they're fairly accurate (particularly where ATs are concerned); MPH, they're generally off 3 or 4 MPH. A friend of mine ran his T/A to a 13.4 on a g-tech, then ran a 13.3 at the track without changing anything performance related prior to his track run. That's not too bad for something that is considered 'unreliable' and made my post lose 'all validity'.

Gtech can be used to see gains sure, but Hawgs is right.

My guess is you will be doing mid 15's at best.

You need 3.42s (in an A4) to hit 14s

I'm buying a 97 T/A rear end off a bud of mine from Saskatoon, don't worry, 3.42 LSD will be coming soon enough.

I'm going to the track for the long weekend in May (rear end won't be ready in time for the track). I'll post my timeslip when I get it.
