• Paging Pathogen/token V6/Jen or anyone trapping 90+ on stock clutch

    Jsut a quick question...

I found you do have a 5-speed but but you have a Centerforce dual friction listed with the Virus's site.

Did you ever run the supercharger with the stock clutch?

I only ask, because ever since I threw my 275/40/17 in the rear, if I am in a setup that traps 93 mph and higher, I light up the clutch at the launch and on the 1-2 shift bad. I had a few problems with the 1-2 shift on my stock 235s, when I was trappin 95 mph.

But if I am in a less hp setup it runs fine chirps gears, and I have no problems with all the tests(5th gear, floor it at low rpm)

I am just curious if its just me killing another clutch(since I have a tendency to do that) or if its just the clutch cannot take the hit of the power?

At AIS, I trapped 90-92.5 on a stock clutch with at least 59000 miles on it.

The car has 97000. I bought it at 38000 and haven't changed the clutch.

The Virus was on a stock clutch until earlier this year. It slipped a bit, but that was because of the mileage on it.

Yeah I trapped 98 on my stock one.

It was slipping in the top of 3rd, and since that drag day back in october, i've been babying it and installing a SPEC THREE.
Updates at the end of may.

Stock I trapped over 93mph, and it held like that close to 35K miles. It let go when I started praying it, no suprise!

            What she said.

Everyone rags on the stock clutch... I had no problems with mine for 30k miles NA and then 50k miles supercharged. Granted, the Centerforce is MUCH nicer, but the stock one held the power no problem.

Its just you dude. I'm still running my stock clutch. Though now that I'm closing in on 80k I could use a new one. Especially if I want to Drag Race a bunch more.

I have 60k on my stock clutch and was pushing close to 92 MPH. I had no problems this weekend and was definately hitting it hard.
