  • Taking a Mustang GT

    Ok here is my question. i have a 3.1L V6. Is there any possible way to beat a Ford Mustnag GT with this car? If so how much modification would it take?

    Well I don't know...but I know people are gonna ask what year GT...so you should put that.
    And I'm sure a built engine and enough nitrous would do it ;)

      swap a 3.4 or 3.8 and build that up. there arent enough mods for that engine imho. and yeah we need more info on what year GT but i dont see the 3.1 ever really bein enough. Some will say yeah then go ahead and drop an lt1 or ls1 in but you need a lot of dough up front for that kind of a swap.

        Yeah you can get a 3.8 really cheap.

          If you can get a good tranny, drop a 350 in with a CARB. Otherwise, the 3.4 swap is real easy, the 3.8 will require some fabrication and replacing the ECM wiring harness, basically EVERY sensor in the car. You could spray the 3.1 with a 75-100 shot, you might win (assuming the wieght is down).

            It would take Forced induction and you still might not be able to do it. You best bet is swapping engines.

                Also to add info about that Mustang GT. Its Bone stock and i know The owner has no plans for it.
                I my self on my 3.1 have a Cam, Rockers, Heads, Pulleys, Custom Burned Chip, Full Exhaust including the catalytic converter. And an air intake. Anyone clue me in?
