• FIRST TIMES ever...

... on an 1/8th mile.
.500 tree, about 61*F, no clue on humidity. around 2300 feet above sea level. race prep was about 1/2 tank of gas, removed backseats, spare, and subs.

before you diss on the 1/8 mile, i feel like all the important stuff happens in the first 660 ft; the rest is just holding your foot down. :D

here are some significant runs:

first run evAr; open TB, 27 PSI, 3000 rpm dump
R/T .825
60 2.36
330 6.529
660 10.004
trap 69.88

best 1/8, full intake w/filter, 25 PSI, 3000 rpm dump
R/T .588
60 .57 ????
330 6.278
660 9.734
trap 70.53

best 60, full intake w/filter, 19 PSI, 5000 rpm dump
R/T .531
60 2.12
330 6.20
660 9.93
trap 65.12 missed 2-3 about 4 times :(

hopefully i can get the 2-3 shift down and get my act together... i feel like i would have hit 9.6x on the last run.

i hot lapped most of the night just trying to get lauches and stuff down; next time i will be sure to bring a bag of ice so i can ice the intake a bit. i'll probably yank the filter too... as long as i'm getting the cold air from the front of the car instead of the hot air from the radiator.

all in all, great night for a n00b!!!11

it was less of a dump, more of a fast feather :D

i will probably try taking it down to a 4000 launch; i think that's what most people do it at and i hate holding 5000 rpm when the chick in the civic next to me is playing the staging game

What kind of tire were you on that could hold up to a 5000rpm dump??

275 sumitomos... HUGE tread blocks :D

it didn't straight up hold, slight amount of spin... but like i said that was my first night at the track so EVERYTHING was experimentation for me; next time i would like to try lower PSI and 3500-4000 dump/feather

Time for a Pro 5.0. Guaranteed to not miss the 2-3.
Now I've missed that 1-2 tons of times ... or one of them at least ... not the gate, just too eager on the clutch.

i've got the B&M ripper... i think it was a matter of nerves as you noted because i knew it was a good launch. i was door to door with the DSM next to me who was cutting low 2.1s-2.0s all nacht and i just tried to be too fast

you should come up to richmond dragway and run the quarter mile track. See what that puppy really puts out.
