i went to the track and got 15 runs out of it. my
last run was my best ET.

    R/T: .271
    60': 2.169
    330: 6.360
    1/8: 9.833
    MPH: 71.29
    1000: 12.830
    1/4: 15.394
    MPH:87.89
with slight spin, more like a churp or two
    temp was like 58

my mods r, flowmaster muffler w/ dual tips, ASSRA and whisper lid. i have stock 3.42 gears and LSD. i was running 27psi. on my back tires and i didnt look on the front. im thinking i lowered the back tire pressure too much and it hurt my top end. I was running street tires with low tread. and the engine temp. was almost 210. quite job right before i was going to get a SLP manual fan switch. Timbo, thanks for the help with my stalling. much apreciated. any help and advice apreciated. plus, i have armor coated pacesetter headers, 3" catco cat., custom 3" s-pipe, 3" SS i-pipe and over axle pipe, and a 3" cut-out sitting next to me. i plan on puying it all on this next weekend hopefully. what do you guys think i will get out of it with the cut-out open? maybe .2 or .3 tenths?

i'm willing to bet you can cut a tenth at least if you drop your rear tire pressure down to 18-19 psi.

my best 60' was on my 13th and 15th run at 2.169
my best 1/8 was on my 15th run at 9.833
my best 1/4 was on my 15th run with a 15.394
my best 1/4 MPH was on my 1st run with a 88.32 w/ a 15.642 ET right off the highway
the only thing i can think of for the reason y my MPH was higher was cause i spun alot the first run, what do you guys think. o' and the later it got, the longer i had to wait to race. but my temp. never really went down. maybe to 195-200. i really need to get a fan switch

with all that info said, why is my ET MPH so low. i've seen slower cars hit better speeds. any input would be appreciated.

Your 60' is decent... so traction is not an issue and therefore would not condone dropping the pressure because you are right it will hurt you up top a bit. Youre getting out of the hole okay but your MPH sucks.

Most people (besides FI people) have noticed a loss in HP with the cut out open... kinda hit or miss there.

I have heard mixed things about cutouts as well... All I know its better then stock but maybe not better then a good catback... Your run looks about right, the mph will coem back once you free up the exhaust some if you are still stock.

As for tire pressure, i woudl jack it up a bit, see if you can get it to launch harder... Its not deathly low, but its at the edge of being to low. Its possible your car works best with that low, but I practice and try and get as much pressure in the rears while still getting a good 60'

I didnt think that was a slow MPH..in my vette i was running a 14.1 at 92..in my opion that looks ok..best i trapped in my 97 RS is 83, but thats just my opinion

I was trapping 89 with an open diff and equalled those 60 fts. Now I'm running 2.05x 60ft's and only traping 87 and running 1 tenth slower.. I'm frustrated.. see other post..lol The only thing I can think of BLLDOGG is you need to install the exhaust, and maybe get a used HPP3 and firm up your shift points a little.

yeah, i talked to you about the shift points. i think they need to be at 5800 and instead of 6000. atleast for how my car is running right now
