• 3800 S10 New Best

I ran at Island Dragway tonight, very hot and very humid. Did nothing since last time at the track. I ran 8 times and they were not consistant at all, probably due to not having a tach so I dont know what I am launching at. My previous best 60 was a 2.3 and tonight ran 2 2.1s and 1 2.0 on street tires, so I am very happy with that. :D

Tonight(70s degrees and close to 100 humidity)

60: 2.074
330: 6.138
1/8: 9.492
MPH: 73.07
1000: 12.416
1/4: 14.898
MPH: 90.65

Old Best(40 degrees and no humidity)

60: 2.300
330: 6.336
1/8: 9.641
MPH: 74.08
1000: 12.529
1/4: 14.989
MPH: 91.45

Tonight convinced me that I really need a tach!!

i bet you are the only S10 at the track with that setup... i remember reading your old webpage; does that truck have some serious weight reduction?

No weight reductions, in fact I added weight. It use to be a 4 cylinder. It weight about 2800 to 2900.

As far as I know, I am the only series 2 3800 S10.

Awesome times!!! You should able to lower it some more, maybe mid to low 14s with your weight like that.

Nice work with the truck... probably wasn't the easiest of swaps on a s-10 but not impossible.

are you running a carb or a f-body pcm? and fuel injection?

12SecondV6, I am going to come down to etown this fall for an NA 3800 battle.

I am going to get M & H muscle car drag tires for more traction. I have an intense stage 2 turbo cam on the way that I got for cheap, I am going to put it in this summer along with some ported intakes, TB, and possible some ported heads. The cam is defenitly mild for NA use, but it should help some. I hope to get close to 13s. Over the winter I am fabricating a turbo setup. ;)
