• Just got some numbers with the heads/cam

I went to the track tonight to go and get some baseline numbers with my new head/cam setup. I didnt do anything to the car other than lower the rear tires PSI to 30lbs, i was just gonna granny shift all night and see what would happen, first pass i launched at a conservative 2k and bogged a little then shifted real slow to a:
60: 2.16
330: 6.2176
1/8: 9.510
1/8: 75.24
1/4: 14.68
1/4: 94.62

I could hardly believe it ran that fast just screwin around, that pass made me wanna powershift it even though the clutch was slipping, after a few more passes i ran this through full exhaust:

60: 2.16
330: 6.06
1/8: 9.28
1/8: 76.63
1/4: 14.362
1/4: 96.11
i had a 2.06' the pass before but missed 2nd and 3rd...then i decided to see what it would do with the open long tubes, left everything else along and ran a:

60: 2.03
330: 5.934
1/8: 9.135
1/8: 77.17
1/4: 14.202
1/4: 96.67 mph

i was stoked, i was expecting to run high 14's but this freaked me out, the open headers definately runs harder up high and the MPH showed, as the night went on the track got worse and i ended w/a 14.24-14.44 but all in all i am very happy with the results. The weather was about 75-85*, 70% humidity since it rained all night before and the DA was probably around 4500-5500ft with about a 15-20mph head wind, i really believe with my DR's, a good clutch, and the weight out i can pull a 13.90 here at my elevation then there is no telling what it'll do at sea level...i guess the dyno was no joke, it is fast! :D

BTW i outran my first LS1 tonight! he was running 14.3-14.5's

Very nice runs! I was about to ask what kind of alt you were at that had LS1s running low/mid 14s, but then I read the rest of your post. Again, very nice work!

mine is the same other than the lobe separation, i had them grind it on a 112 instead of the 115 because i dont plan on any power adders in the future.....

WOW! Way to go Lance!!! I can't wait to get to the track now too, we need to run sometime:) Some drag radials or even ET Streets to get that 60' to 1.9X and there's 13's there at altitude! Time to show these sea-level cars how us Texas Guys make power!

Was this at TAD? I heard they made some much needed approvements... but I think its time to come to HRP. ;)

Like I told Matt... my house is open to anyone who wants to run at HRP ;)

I am gonna be going down there this winter sometime also, probably during christmas break though, BTW this pass was made at West Texas Raceway by Odessa, Texas, the air here is way worse than TAD, but ive also heard of improvements but i havent been back since november of 2002...BTW thanks for the generosity Hawgs, i may look you up when i go, i just have to see how it all shakes out....
