My PHR didn't help my launches at all, and I got the BMR phr relocation kit(which stiffen the rear chassis more than anything), and the BMR Rod-ended chrome moly phr. I haven't noticed any gain in my launches from it. I have noticed a stiffer feeling in corners from it, quicker response out of corners, and better control over the rear end.

nice times w/ the g-force's drone. what was the size on those?
Then in having an High IQ you must know that IQ test scores are useless for the most part. They only guage one's potential to learn.

Now back to the PHR.. the sole function of the PHR is to center the rear axle on the car. The mods that effect drag racing the most from a suspension stand point are LCA's and a Torque arm. SFC's don't really come into play until you have enough Horsepower to actually flex the chassis.. ;)

If you guys aren't smart enough to keep this topic drag racing related then I'm gonna take a gander that your IQ is not above normal.

Any fool can see that this is the drag racing section.

my PHR paragraph was directed at Hawgs who seems to think that phr's help in drag racing. I know they don't help, and i was showing proof. yes, I know 180+ IQ is considered genius or above. That's why it's never been hard for me to learn about the thing I like.

agreed. back on topic..

i got a line on some [used] cascar straight slicks that i am going to try out. they have the same diameter tire as i am running now, they'll just give me more traction to get those 60's down a bit, thereby gaining rpms in 4th gear. thanks for all the advice thus far guys!

Have you tried?? Lowering your PSI on your rear tires? How about letting the engine cool down before the run?

i've tried both...22 in the back, 45 in the front, cool down for 30 mins with the fans on for some of that..

The LCA's keep the rear "located" from front to rear. They keep the wheels from "running into the wheel wells". Make sense?

The PHB keeps the axle and wheels centered under the car. Without the PHB, when the car turned a corner, the body would be free to flex or bend the LCA's and slide off the axle (causing the inside of one tire to hit the inner fender). This would result in the body hitting the inside edge of the tire on the outside of the turn.

Now, take a ruler, lay it on your kitchen table and try to push it forward in a straight line with the tip of your finger nail. In most cases, it won't go straight, it will turn or move sideways (out of the way).

Think of the LCA's as 2 rulers between the axle and the chassis. On a hard launch, they could move sideways (in an arc) more easily than they can push the car forward. Meaning, you dump the clutch and the axle moves to one side and the tire hits the body. The PHB's job is to prevent this. It keeps the axle under the car and keeps the LCA's from being "bent" to one side during acceleration. So, while the PHB does not directly impact launch (though you probably won't go far without one), it is part of the complete package. It won't do a whole lot to prevent wheel hop (unless you are getting enough lateral movement of the axle to cause a problem, doubtful). So, yes, I suggest upgrading the PHB, but I won't promise you a reduction in 60 foot times because of the new one. It will primarly "strengthen" the rear suspension as part of a package approach.

Did that make sense?
