  • Went to the track for the first time

Tonight I went to the Ohio Valley Raceway. It was the first time I've ever been to a dragstrip to watch or run. First time up I get there and IU'm told that I can't run because I'm I have something leaking. I pull it out see nothing wrong and go back. I get the run off. Time was pretty crappy but oh well it was just my first time. I go back for a second run later on and again I am told it is leaking and I can not run. I park it and wait to see if I can see what the matter is. It was leaking something but I couldnt find the leak because it was dark. I checked all my fluids and everything and took it home. I still can't figure otu what the leak is but hopefully tomarrow i am going to get it on a rack and look under it so I can figure it out. I'm hoping on Saturday night to be able to get some more times posted but for now I just have the one run from tonight:

    R/T:.356
    60 ft.: 2.355
    330 ft.: 6.447
    594 ft.: 9.236
    1/8 mile: 9.876
    1/8 mph: 70.31

Just an 1/8 mile track so no quarter times yet. Even though the time wasn't all that good i still beat my friends 94 gt 5spd convertible. His best time was a 9.92*. he was running his mouth all the time about how bad he was gonna beat me once we got to a track (we've already raced a couple of times just not at a track).
Oh well now I just have to figure out whats leaking so I can get it back on the track.

Those are pretty repectable numbers for your first time at the track. Looks like you maybe could run a good low 15's.
As for the leaking, make sure your AC is off. sometimes when running your AC, you will leak water from the condensation build up.

Yeah it was the GTP and yeah it was a bad launch. I left traction control on by mistake and i was waiting for the car that was next to me to stage and something was wrong and they wouldn't let him run so I ended up running alone. I look to see whats up and then i look back and green was getting ready to go. Launch was from a dead idle with t/c on. By the way, this was with my spare and jack in my trunk with a few other items in the car. I didn't know I was going to the track until about a half hour before we were meeting and I had to drive about 20 minutes to get to where I was meeting with my friends. As for the A/C thing, my guess is it was that because I did have the ac on on my way to the track but cut it off there. I checked everything and played around and it drops condensation for what seems to be an eternity. All fluids are in good shape and havent changed so my guess is it has to be that. Plus the condensation is from the same spot as my "leak" was.

Planning on going to the track again with the A/C off all the way there on Saturday. I don't know if anyone on here is from the area of Hardinsburg, KY but thats where we are gonna be at this weekend. Hopefully I can get some better numbers to post with a timeslip worth scanning and posting.
