• Here are my times! Need improvements!

ALL YOU CAVALIER OWNERS CAN EAT MY FAT ****. NOBODY RUNS THEIR BEST TIME THE FIRST TIME THEY GO TO THE TRACK. IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT MY CAR'S TIMES COME TO IRVINE AND SAY IT.
THX B*TCHES

Ok well here they are. I know the car has better in it, but I guess you aren't going to run your fastest the first time at the track.

conditions...
Car was in full trim, stereo, spare tire, and all. about 1/2 - 3/4 tank of gas, plus my 220 lb *** driving.
It was rediculously hot, I was there less than 3 hours and got sun burnt really bad.
Don't know about humidity..

1st run:
r/t: 1.007
60': 2.515
330 ft: 7.040
1/8 et: 10.820
1/8 mph: 64.55
1/4 et: 16.962 (best of the day)
1/4 mph: 81.26

2nd run:
r/t: .717
60': 2.478 (best 60' of the day)
330 ft: 7.048
1/8 et: 10.834
1/8 mph: 64.55
1/4 et: 16.988
1/4 mph: 81.20

3rd run:
r/t: .713 (best of the day)
60': 2.583
330 ft: 7.109
1/8 et: 10.886
1/8 mph: 64.56
1/4 et: 17.020
1/4 mph: 81.70

4th run:
r/t: .894
60': 2.587
330 ft: 7.085
1/8 et: 10.846
1/8 mph: 64.92
1/4 et: 17.027
1/4 mph: 80.65 (held 2nd gear to 6,000 rpm, didn't help my mph)

Well, as you can see these times are pretty slow. This makes me faster than 3 people on the timeslip page LOL.

I have to wait until I go home and let my dad ride in my car, this was the first time I stalled it up and raced it since I got my new tranny/coverter and I think something is wrong with my converter. With my old converter if I let off the brake and floored it, it would spin, but now when I was letting off the brake and flooring it, the car would barely putt along until about 10 mph then all of a sudden take off like crazy. It just doesn't launch anymore :(

And I think my mph is low just because we were racing from about 12:30-3:00pm so it was at the hottest point in the day... I will have to go to some night races if I can find some that aren't a RIP OFF to race there and see what I can do. Car runs completely different at night..

Also, the track was effing gay, they made me wear a helmet! I couldn't hear how high I was stalling it, if I was spinning, couldn't hear a damn thing.

So I don't know what else is going on with my car other than it is slower than stock, yet I've got almost every bolt-on. I really do think somethng is wrong with the converter because my car launched harder with 3.23s :( That's how I used to win races but yesterday I was dead even with cars until about 1/8 then they would pull ahead :(

And nino, if you would have guessed to one more decimal place you could have won $5! LOL
I said to 1/100 and everybody guesses to the 1/10 place?

Don't feel bad. Your car has much more in it than that. Weather can play a HUGE factor. Take some of that stuff outta your car, go on a cooler less humid day in fall and just practice.
Your car has low 16's high 15's in it somewhere.

Yeah I think it does too..

My friend recorded me doing 0-60 in high 7 low 8 seconds, and if you look at my 1/8 mph its like 64 mph at 10.8 seconds... that means my 0-60 is 2 seconds off or more...

I don't know exactly what is wrong... just have to let my dad look it over.

I could probably win some bracket races though LOL
My times were .065 off at the most!

Well there is open test & tune at Famoso starting at 6pm on aug 6th, I am going to be going there with my dad.

I am going to let him run my car down the track and let him see what it is doing, he said it might be a problem with the Converter but he needs to see what it is doing to be sure. It is like the converter works fine under regular conditions, but if you load it up a little for a good launch it just doesn't function right.

Hopefully it will be under warrenty and I won't have to pay anything, just have to drop the tranny back down again :(

Werd, I agree w/ BlackBird on that one.

Seriously, don't feel bad about it. Look at it this way, the first time I took my car to the track the first run I raced a Z28, I ran a 18.96 and I blew my motor. My car barely made the 20 mile route home. :(
Damn how I was disappointed, at least the motor died trying LOL

what he said or work on the launches the 60' alone are alot of room for improvement. Jsut getting things right and but what you said your launch feels like I fully believe hig 15s are very possible.
