  • i don't know what happened

my car just felt sluggish all day today. I couldn't figure it out. it ran beautifully yesterday.

    temp 85-90
    humidity, im guessin like 100%
    best timeslip of the day
    R/t... .844 crappy
    60 ft..2.190
    330....6.286
    1/8....9.716
    1/8mph..71.84
    1000....12.666
    1/4.....15.176
    1/4mph..89.63

every single timpeslip after that was 15.3 @ 88mph

when i had open rear and 3.23 gears i went 14.9@95mph with a 2.3 60' in the same weather conditions. my last time at the track i went 4 runs and they went 14.67 @ 94, 14.67@ 94, 14.71 with my girl in the car, and a 14.633 @ 90.
I think my fuel filter or my cat is clogged. it just wasn't making any power today. im so frustrated I wanna tear it down to the block and rebuild it.

did you ever consider you is runny like crap because of the weather. if anything, that is the sole reason why.

would the weather bring my trap speeds down by almost 6 mph? I woulda thought it would have been close to the same mph just slower ET if it was the weather.

Weather is directly related to horsepower. Density Altitude expecially. Since trap is a direct representation of horsepower then the higher the DA the lower your trap ;)

holy hell 94% humidty and still got that mph...

                    you have a nice setup!

For what its worth, I lost 2.5 mph, going from very dry(20-30%) and 50s to mid 70s and ~70% humidity.

weather will kill ya... jsut come to OrlandoSpeedWorld at different times of the year.

next time before you got to the track go to www.weather.com and find out all the info to calculate the DA for the night( calculator: http://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_da_rh.htm ). Will give you a good idea of wether or not its worth your money to go to the track that night.

What are good DA values? What would it take for you to consider it now worth while to go?

That seems like a valuable resource, I don't know what it means though.

the best DA is negative which happens sometimes...

but i wouldn't consider going unless it was around 1000 or less

Yesterday it was 1443 at 7 pm in Milan. The humidity jumped up from 52% to 93% by 9 pm, but the temp fell to 67, so that dropped it to 723. I like that, I'll have to do that before I go next time.
