• One wild ride

Wichita International was a complete zoo tonite. It was unusual. In 4 hours I only got to make 2 runs.

The first was my ritual "shakedown" NA run. As usual, it was total crap with a 15.7@ 88.7. I was amazed by the 2.1 60'. I usually cut 2.3's. My $2000 bulletproof v6 is completely gutless NA. I guess its turbo time for me.

Run 2 was the wild ride. I put it my 100 dry shot, and set my nitto DR's to 23 lbs....

I was blaring slipknot right up to the staging lanes. I don't usually do that, but I was nervous since I had the only car at the whole track that couldn't run mid 9's.

Anyways, When the yellow lights came on, I revved it to 3500rpm and dumped the clutch just before green. Those crazy Nittos dead hooked like some 33" Hoosier slicks. Since I had removed the front swaybar, the front end lifted considerably. As soon as I started moving, the engine began to bog due to the ultra traction I was so unacustomed to. In a panic, I floored the pedal, forgetting about the throttle microswitch I had just installed for the N2o. The Nittos lost traction for about 1/3 of a turn and then gripped again. I shot forward like a rocket to 6000rpm. I quickly shifted into second an I was on my way. It was the funnest ride of my life.

The fox mustang next to me did a wheelstand on green, and I blew him away. I was sooo happy I almost jizzed when I reached second gear.

When I was returning to the pit area, everything was dead silent. Everyone was staring at me. I parked an read my timeslip:

13.75 @101.5..... D'OH!!!!!!!!

I thought I had just run a 10 flat or something!

I was embarrassed, but then a crowd of people walked over to me and started gawking at my car. It turns out, the announcer was impressed, so he said to the entire track: 13.75 @ 101 for the red camaro.... wait a minute, it's just a v6, that is pretty impressive folks!

On the board I am just another 13 second guy, but around here I am a local celebrity. It's pretty cool.

1.87 60' times make for a wild ride too. Those Nittos are a million times better than street tires.

All in all, I paid twenty bucks and spent four hours to take one wild ride.

I got a weather report from last night.

77*
29.96 baro
100% humidity

I think in some decent weather I can make more power. I was not at all impressed with my 101.5 trap speed. My old stocker ran a 104.5 trap speed on spray.

We shall see...

What law?

100 shot here, 2 seconds reduction

Congrats!

Much more in that car if it was your first pass on the bottle.

Rev to 3500, dump it and spray right away.

Most likely those nitto's won't hold under a launch like that, drop the psi to 19.5 psi.

Raise front psi to 44-46 psi.

Good luck, practice... and you will go quicker

werd.

12sec, from what I gather, my configuration isn't too far away from yours when you broke into the 12's.

I just need to get to the track more often and practice.

I pulled all the way through the waterbox, revved up to 4000rpm, and dumped the clutch. The car sat still for a few seconds and the rear end drifted to the left slightly. As soon as I started to move forward, I pressed the clutch in and rolled up to the tree.
