• More weight gone

18 pounds for the wiring, battery cut off switch, battery box etc

3.5 pounds for the passenger side seat belt mounted into the ceiling

0.5 pounds for some black plastic thingee in the trunk area all the way on the passenger side under the carpet. Dunno what it is.... but it was dead weight :D

3,146 pounds (last time out), take 22 away for recent weight reduction......3,124 race weight..... 200 pounds for driver....2,924 pounds w/o driver......almost 1/2 tank of gas.... could be a new best weight just over 2,900 pounds w/o driver.

Next mod for weight reduction... hawker 18 pound battery instead of my Optima red top 40 pound battery.

<--- can't wait for sub 2,900 pound curb weight

James you can knock that down to a 10 lb battery, I did it for a while and it worked fine! (until it sat for 6 months over the winter and wouldn't charge).
Got the battery for $28 shipped. Some still have stock of it.

James... are you planning on selling the cutoff switch, etc? Let me know via email/aim if you are. I've acquired a 1 gal fuel cell that I will be putting in place of my battery.

If you decide that a battery like the Dyna-Batt is the right battery for you, then consider purchasing the Genesis G16EP or Odyssey PC 680. Peformance Distributors sells the Dyna-Batt at a price ($132 to $155) that is much higher than the list price for the G16EP, which is about $90. The G16EP is available at the discount price of $70 from Portable Power Systems (PPS). PPS also has SAE terminals custom manufactured for Hawker batteries (see their SAE Terminal Kit, part number 30Z101B1, for $11.95). They are identical to those found on the Odyssey line of batteries. SAE terminals for Hawker/Odyssey/Genesis batteries can also be purchased at Battery Mart. The Odyssey PC 680 also suffers from price gouging, often selling at $115 to $145. Battery Mart offers very reasonable prices on a variety of batteries and accessories, including the PC 680 for $86, the PC 925MJT for $106, and the PC 1200MJT for $146. For other reasons to avoid buying the Dyna-Batt, please read the Battery Care section below.

Do you clip your fingernails and toenails before racing? That might make up some weight slowing you down as well.
