• 1st run at the track.... need some pointers

Ok so i went to the track tonight mainly to see my friends brother run. He won $100 for winning the import class in his 300zx tt. Anyways i finally decided to race my other friend in his v6 camaro. I beat him by about a second. Well anyways i spun my tires and got set and i was about to stall it and the second yellow light was on so i didnt get to stall it up and i spun some but overall i think i did ok for my first run. I havent even floored the thing since i got the new motor 6 months ago. Heres my time any help is much appreciated.
R/T... .908
60`... 2.417
330... 6.678
1/8... 10.170
mph... 71.01
1/4... 15.698
mph... 87.83
My mods are listed below and i didnt get to stall it or anything. I was nervous as hell and could have definatly done better. O by the way i am still running the 3.08 gears and no lsd.

need some help on those 60's... they say each tenth you cut off your 60 is worth 2 tenths of ET.

your 1/8th mile trap is great, especially running a 10.1 AND having 3.08s.

try to get that 60' to a 2.1 or so and you will be in the low 15's, very fast for a 3.08 car. :D

I think the temp was about 62 or so with about 60-70% humidity. My car had a full tank of gas and full weight.

Good track advice. "Hey man just get more mods that will help your driving".

Try to get more comfortable at the track. Hot lap the crap out of it. Don't worry about getting good times just worry about going down the track as many times as possible so that you won't be nervous anymore. Get the staging and the stalling down, then move to the launching, and so on. The more comfortable you get at the track the lower your times will go bro.

When I made a lot of consecutive passes at the track my times, went from 15.7 to 15.5 to 16.1 to 16.1 to 16.3 They got worse as I "hot lapped" it but it is good practice and my reaction time went from 1.3 to .736

I'm suprised your trap speed is only 87, With my 2000 motor swapped into my 97 my trap speeds were low 90's, and i only have tubular manifolds, gutted cat, flowmaster and removed intake. Also i have 3.08 gears and I just held on to third gear and headed for 6000 instead of shifting to fourth, when i shifted to fourth my trap speed was around 87.

defintely gotta cut down that r/t ...just floor when the second yellow is about to go out...(heck i floor ot when it comes on lol) ...but if you ran a 2.4 60' time with an r/t of .9 ...i say when you nail the start you have a chance of running high 14s ...i've got an open 3.08 rear and my best naturally aspirated slip so far looks something like this

r/t: .3
60': 2.3
1/4: 14.984
mph: 92.18

however my best r/t so far was a .1 ...so im hoping to get in the mid 14s NA ..and im still waiting on a repair to see how she does with the boost and juice
