  • TIMES IN (NEW BEST) !!!! whats your guesses.........

....for my track run tomorrow night? if i run the car, this will be the weather hopefully. everything is better than my first/last time at the track, other than the humitity, not sure what it was last time. last time, i ran a 15.3 @87mph w/ a 2.1 60ft with just a flow muffler. going to running the same low tread tires with less tread than last time. Austin SSRA, whisper lid, crapy dirty filter, headers and y-pipe, 3" catco cat, 3" cutout, s-pipe/i-pipe/overaxle pipe all three inches. flow master muffler with duals. im going to run twice. with cutout open and with it closed. also, i have an exhaust leak where my egr tube meets the header  . also i have MSDs but that probably doesnt matter. what do you guys think i'll do. im hoping for atleast a 15.1xx

if you pull the filter you better drive around for a while before hand....
the MAF sensor does NOT like sudden increases in airflow and especially turbulence..

come on guys. you dont even think i'll get 15.1xx? SOMP is an accurate test but is flat out hauling ***. i dont like how the power vand moved up though. it makes my car feel less powerful when taking off. do you guys think my exhaust leak will affect anything?

the leak wont affect anything and even though it feels like a turd down low you'll run quicker cuz most of your runs are made in higher RPM's...i dont think you'll run a 15.1 though cuz its summertime, maybe a 15.2....goodluck

I'm gonna say 15.0something.. Try to launch at 2 grand to get up in the powerband quicker. Good luck. Those temps. look good for racing.. btw, at least knock the dirt out of that air filter (if your not going to clean or change it) ;)

thanks for the advice. when i was at the track the first time, timbo told me to stall at 1500 and it worked. i went from consistant 2.2s to 2.1s. i'll try it with my cutout closed so just incase, i dont ruin a good run when i open it. ;) about the filter, unfortunatly i dont have the money to replace it. i'll try to hit it a few times

I hope you get a great time, but I think realisticaly probably 15.2
When you get to the track take out the air filter. I do that all the time and I have seen a .02 to .05 sec drop in my ET.

what will the computer do to the engine if it does sense the increase in airflow?
