DO YOU GUYS NOT CONSIDER ELEVATION? damn thats all i see is "can i hit this" "can i hit that" and no one seems to even think about what elevation youre running. elevation is a REAL BIG factor AND FYI

I have NEVER seen a 4 second to 5 second dragster run a manual they are all powerglide autos THATS HOW SHift consistency and shift time and stall where you want it

They don't use manuals because there's no need to shift more than once. They don't need to shift more than once when those cars generate THAT much horsepower, that's why they use powerglides. Not because they are automatics. [img]graemlins/twak.gif[/img] Last time I saw a rebuilt powerglide that was used for that type of application, it is completely gutted and made to work as a manual. If someone built a two speed manual transmission, they would use them. Shift time and consistency don't factor in with 4-5 second drags as much as street cars since the drags shift only once. I think you should learn more about things before you start using them in your arguments.

and to clarify something...top fuel is direct drive they just slip the clutches at set intervals so they dont spin the tires, and the 5 second cars dont run powerglides, TAD or A/Fuel normally run 3 speed Lenco's, in Pro Mod(low 6's) they run 4 speed Lenco's, a Powerglide isnt worth a damn once you get about 1200-1300 horsepower because they start to burn up clutches and break too much...
