• How bout' the screws... do they look like they were cut in half, 1/4, or what??? Did you spend a lot of time looking at them?

      • Holy shiat! Sounds like a meltdown.... A word of advice, running boost with a DRY shot of nitrous, ISN'T smart. You say you don't care about your motor, there's a good chance if the plugs are blasted, that your pistons look the same....sucks to be you

        • yeah usually after spraying a lot i burn the tips clean off...which means i was definitely getting detonation or running lean...i thought i took care of that with the fuel pump...so now im gonna retard the ignition timing a few degrees when i hit the nitrous and see how much that helps

Shirl ...i definitely have to get a fuel pressure guage or a FPR ...cuz im not really sure what the psi is ...do you use an ignition timing retard device on your setup??

How do you fiugre that you took care of the lean condition when you are using a dry shot? Or don't even know what your fuel pressure is? No extra fuel is added to the mixture during WOT unless you use a wet shot or add more fuel during and only during WOT. Increasing overall fuel pressure is a bad idea since you would be running rich during normal driving. You should have been retarding the ignition in the beginning but you also need to get more fuel with the boost and spray. With the 100 shot I use, I retard the timing 6*. With you, since your running boost also, it may have to be more than 6*.

            • no no no...justa missunderstanding...i THOUGHT i too kcare of the lean condition by getting the pump...but i really dont know...thats why i gotta get a pressure gauge and/or regulator...i guess i'll start off with the guage first...and you're right..with the blower i'll start off the timing -8* ..then move it down to -6* if it handles that fine...i'll probably have it retard the timing like 2* at WOT since i have the blower (since the car seems to handle just the blower just fine...i only get problems when i spray WITH the blower)..and then another 4* - 6* when i hit the nitrous...does that sound about right?

              • or i can set it up to retard the timing a certain amount if degrees at certain rpm points..

Yep, Crane. It should have come with the kit. You have bad fueling issues that need to be addressed. If you're not going to buy autotap (to look at O2 readings and other parameters (you can do this while making a pass), you'd better at the very least get a fuel pressure gauge somewhere in the car to read the pressure at idle and wot. It sounds like your beating the hell out of your car. It'll take a beating like that for a while because it's a strong motor, but sooner or later...something bad will happen. The best thing would be to tune your car with just the blower FIRST (I think someone mentioned that somewhere along the way). But before you can even do that....You need to find out EXACTLY what the fuel pressure is!! So, go out and buy a nice autometer fuel pressure gauge rated from 0-100psi and install it in the cockpit where you can see it at ALL TIMES. I want to hear what the fuel pressure is when you're done.. Then we go from there.

                  • awesome..yeah they gave me a Crane one with mine too...but they screwed it up...it retards the timing a default of 2* per lb. of boost...so if i have that in the car...the supercharger doesnt do a thing cuz its robbing all my power (and possibly even harming the engine) ...so i took it out..and DAMN did that car come alive...anyways...i was just looking on ebay at some fuel psi gauges...id only go with autometer of course ;) ..if i cant find a decent one there i'll just pick one up at a speed shop here in albany...hook it up..and let you know...it shouls be at 70 - 75 psi with the blower at WOT and 80 - 85 psi when i hit the nitrous right?..thats what i've read...but id rather hear it from someone who actually uses the stuff in their car of course...anyways i'll let you know ...if the readings arent correct then i guess i'll have to have a FPR installed

                      • Not sure if it was mentioned but a food Air/fuel ratio guage might be a good idea.

I had a feeling you were running all kinds of lean with a supercharger and a dry shot, yet alone a dry shot behind the MAF.

                        • i actually have an autometer air/fuel gauge...but i dont really think its too accurate...i says i run totally fine...if not even a little on the richer side..whem i really think i should be running more on the lean side...so i just took it out

i just purchased a fuel pressure gauge...should be here in a week...so i'll be able to hook that up and let everyone know what the pressure looks like

I was just going to give advice...but, I have a wet system, so things would be different where fuel pressure is concerned. I'm not sure if 80-85psi is about right for a dry system with the blower. You are really going to need to monitor your O2s and/or as Eric said read the a/f ratio gauge along with the fuel pressure while taking passes with the car.
