If you're trapping high enough, the car WILL shift into overdrive, but if you're not making it that fast anyway, then it doesn't matter what it's in (3 or D). As stated above, don't manually shift the auto- it can do it better than you can.-Travis
99 Trans Am, Pewter, A4 Forged, stalled, and cammed
85 Buick Regal WH1 T-Type It\'d be cool if it ran...
94 Camaro 3.4, Teal, M5 The daily beater

i tried both overdrive and drive. overdrive works best for me, the car shifts smoothly. in drive, it holds 3rd gear for too long before going to 4th. so leave it in overdrive.\'98 Camaro - SOLD
Best E/T: 15.489 @ 86.48 MPH
60\': 2.131
members.cardomain.com/skorpion317
1998 Saturn SL2
Official NJ Disturbance bracket racer

It does not matter whether you leave it in D (3rd) or OD (4th) unless you are trapping way above 100MPH. You car will NOT shift into 4th, even 1dangerousV6's wont and he is boosted and spraying... I don't know how/why you think yours does skorpion317.

Play nice people
Drive or overdrive... all the same.... I don't know ANY v6 owner currently on this board that shifts into overdrive neat the end of the 1/4.
I used to due to speedo not being reprogrammed for different gears.Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
nitrous et & mph: 12.168 & 110.95 mph, n/a 13.746 & 96.38 mph
2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8: 12.125, 116.45
2010 Ford Taurus SHO: no times yet
