  • 2nd time at track... great results!

I had a really good night at the track. My first run wasnt that great but the second one was pretty sweet.
    #1 r/t - .948
    60' - 2.349
    330 - 6.576
    1/8 - 10.041
    mph - 71.47
    1/4 - 15.548
    mph - 88.25
I messed up bad on the first run on my takeoff. The second run was great and i gave my friends ss a little scare through the 1/8.
    #2 r/t - .637
    60' - 2.298
    330 - 6.519
    1/8 - 9.962
    mph - 72.50
    1/4 - 15.367
    mph - 89.61
So i got a new best of 15.3. All of my mods are in my sig. Keep in mind that i am still running an open differential with 3.08's. I was on the ss gas tank at the 1/8 mark but then he pulled me pretty good. He ran a 14.1 on the same run. The power went out and i raced again when it came back on with my rear tires at 35 pounds and launching at 2000 and didnt spin at all. If the clocks would have been working when the power fist came back i probably would have done alot better. I still think i can improve the time before i put any more mods on. I am pretty pleased with my car. Any comments on this and what do yall think of my times?

you were asleep one the first run, right?

your friend must not be a very good driver if he runs a 14.1 in an SS.

get that 60' time down and you'll watch your time drop even more.

      Nice.

Hooking with rear tire psi around 35 psi huh?

Hmmm, personally, I've liked as low as 28 psi, but if you are hooking at 35 psi don't change it.

I'd like to see you raise your launch rpm.

Try 2500, then progress to 3,000 eventually. In doing so you will need to drop some rear tire psi for improved traction.

Raise the front tire psi to 46 for TRACK ONLY runs.

What was the temp, humid, barom psi, and elevation?

Not sure on elevation adn pressure but the temp was 71 with 90-100% humidity. It was about 15 degrees hotter and 10% more humidity than the first time i ever ran so thats why i was glad about dropping my time .3. Thanks for all the advice.

100% humidity might equal rain but here in the deep south it is that high every night in the summer. When the temperature meets the dew point the humidity is 100%. It does not always mean rain but when it rains it is 100%. I once did a project and for 2 weeks in august the humidity averaged 94% at night and only two of those nights were rain so it doesnt mean its raining.

I think i can get a 15.1 before anymore mods. I can mess with the pressure somemore and i ran the 15.3 with my friend in the car with me so thats about 170 pounds right there. So when the weather gets cooler i will head back and try for a 15.1 before i do anything else.

yeah, here in the south, 100% humidity is normal without it raining
