  • Next mod to lower 1/4 times.....

    I'm looking for opinions, so anything pertaining to making the car faster, goes. I'm working on saving up a decent chunk of change to dump into the car. here's what I have so far:

    Intake/exhaust: FTRA/K&N/Whisper Lid/!Maf/Ported MAF housing/TB spacer, 3" carsound cat, 3" exhaust
    Computer/Ignition/Cooling: HP Tuners tuning, MSD-DIS-4, MSD Coil Packs, 160* thermo, ZZP Electric Water Pump
    Suspension/Chassis/Tires: BMR poly/rubber LCA's/LCA relocation brackets/rod-ended adj. PHR/upper PHR brace/tubular SFC's/STB, 1LE swaybars, 255-50-ZR16 tires
    Drivetrain: Edge 3000 TC, 1LE driveshaft, 3.42's, LSD
    weight reduction: removed spare/jack

    I spin off the line if i punch the converter. rolling into it i can keep traction alright, but too quick and i spin. basically, i'm looking at dropping times in these areas:

    weight reduction
    suspension
    nitrous
    heads/cam
    wheels/tires

    I dunno if i'll have the cash for heads/cam or wheels/tires, but i might, so i threw them in. anything else u guys can come up with, or any suggestions in the areas i mentioned?

    well since you are havin trouble keepin tracton, some DR's or slicks are prolly your best bet. weight reduction might accually hurt you.

      DRs and skinnies, and take the K&N out but close the lid when you run.

        Definitely Torque arm.
        DRs if you can afford them.

        what's your best 60' on those tires?

          I doubt i'll do skinnies up front, i want the car to still corner well. I haven't ran in my current tires yet, just street stuff.

            I like the idea of a torque arm you already have a decent amount of suspension back there only really tires and torque arm left to go.

            If you want to go dirt cheap, but a little work, I noticed a pretty good difference with jsut a poly torque arm bushing. Also a better tranny mount then stock if you don't already have one.

            I am sure you know this but in the end Nitrous will be best bang for the buck. Maybe put a kit and later move into stuff that will help with that like nitrous accessories, ported heads. Then look into a cam.

              My skinnies take me over an hour to each of the three jersey tracks and back. They're really not that bad for a day or so. I sometimes leave them on all weekend. Just have to be careful because swerving is impossible and hard braking is worse. But they would take ~.1sec and give you ~1-2mph!
