it's not easy getting an N/A 3.8L into the 13's. you have to do a lot of weight reduction, internal engine work, etc. do a search.
high 14 low 15 where i stand okay.... two questions in mind. where do I begin to search getting in to the 13 and next does it really help to lower the psi on the tires at the track
first mod for everybody (IMO) should be gears after you take care of the other bolt-ons ( intake/exhaust, suspension, and tires). i dropped about 5 tenths off of my ET just by changing to 3.73s.
you'll have to install just about every bolt-on there is, drag radials weight reduction AND a cam and maybe some headwork (just to be safe) to see 13s.
your tire pressure is important. play around with it at the track; everybody seems to prefer a different setup. i would start out around 28 psi in the rear and go down from there. for me it ended up being a give and take game in terms of 60' and MPH. i settled around 26 PSI, but that's on 275/40/17s.
most people do their back seats, spare tire, and jack first. james and magnus have done a lot of "research" into weight reduction and they have some pretty slick ideas on it, things you may not have thought of.
i am going off topic but for those that have automatics how to you guys drag race. example at the start hold the brake and have the gas pedal pushing at 2,000rpm. have it at N then shift to D.
Hold the brake with your left foot, stall up to 1500 rpm or so (depending on if you have lsd or an open you may have to adjust your stall rpm so you don't spin) and on the third yellow release the brake and push the gas.
I believe the stock convertor can only stall to 1800 rpm before it starts slipping (I may have the terminology wrong)
