• Timeslips Page Poll

Here's your chance to cast your vote.

The Timeslips Page is getting rather large. The suggestion has been made to limit the number of names per category. Do you support this idea or would you prefer to see every name listed? The major justification for having a "top 50" or "top 25" or top whatever per category is that even being listed becomes an accomplishment. Right now anyone can buy a stock V6 F-Body, run it at the track, and see their name in lights regardless of performance. Being listed alone isn't much of an accomplishment.

What do you think?

I would like to see all names listed just so I know where I rank in the standings. Right now I am ranked 122 but I also like to see who my next competitor is. I say keep it as it is.
Being in the top 25 regardless is a big accomplishment. Being listed is not a big accomplishment but at least going out and trying to run is.

i vote keep it the way it is , this way people can see who's faster than who, and people are allway wondering what a stock V6 runs, and if the site is no longer showing all the times then i cant just send them a link to the timeslips page :-p

i like the idea of having everyones slip up there. it lets noobs see where they stand and what they are shooting for. plus when you have the links to peoples sites on all of them people can see what it takes to get to any particular power/et level.

I like the idea of top 50 N/A and top 25 power adders and I think we should have it but I think it’s pretty sucky for those who race a lot but don’t have the car or money to make it in the list for awhile. I do have an idea though. Could we have a box that says stock or modified? That would let people see stock times. And instead of saying the real name of the person, have it be a box for links to webpages and just leave it blank if a link isn’t supplied.

I voted to limit it even though I don’t believe I make the list. :(

i voted to limit it, but ater reading the others i think the top 25 of every class should be at the top of the page then list the others after that, also using there web page is a good idea

ex. one day i hope mine says

I like the idea of having the webpage...

and hopefully the person will have on their webpage more info about their mods and times.

i have seen lists that limit before. a lot of peopel don't bother to participate or try because they think their stock car is too far away from teh reult needed to even be mentioned.
i can seriously see it discouraging many participants from even trying.

Thats what I was thinking also, it won't affect any of the times I set but when I was on the bottom of the lists, I was constantly looking at how much further up I coudl get on the list, when you look of at a goal of a 13.6 N/A you just get discouraged, 1st peopel I wanted to beat were the people in the mid 15s.

That is my point exactly. I want to see who is 5 or 10 spots in front of me and try to beat that. My goal is to be in the top 100 N/A.
What will it hurt to have everyone's time on there?

I also agree. I started out way down at the bottom of the list. Every time I went to the track, I would look at the list to see what I needed to do to jump up a few spots. I don't think I would be in the top ten today if I wasn't encouraged at all when I was number 100. I mean, honestly, what are we arguing over? Oh damn, I have to scroll down a little more to see the times I want to see. Who cares? If all you're interested in is top 50, look at top 50. Okay, I'm done. We need a soap box graemlin.

I like it the way it is. but I am in the n/a 3.4 crowd. not very big compared to the 3.8. maybe not accepting timeslips for times slower then 14.9999 for the 3.8. that would be a huge chunk.

Everyone likes seeing their name in lights...

Andrew, 14.9999 for the 3.8?
I'd never make it there in a million years with my stock bird, which will remain stock because it's my DD. Just took it to the track for the first time Friday, and boy do I have a long way to go...

If you wanted to limit the list in any way, I would suggest removing the timeslips of those who haven't been active on the BB in the last year. I never see some of those people here anyway.
