• New Best in my truck! (Updated Again)

Old Best(80s degrees and close to 100% humidity)

60: 2.074
330: 6.138
1/8: 9.492
MPH: 73.07
1000: 12.416
1/4: 14.898
MPH: 90.65

New Best(60s with 50% humidy)

60: 2.201
330: 6.291
1/8: 9.601
MPH: 74.42
1000: 12.459
1/4: 14.869
MPH: 93.68

Overall, I am pleased with the runs. I am amazed by my trap because my highest before today was 91.98. If I could get another launch like I did on my previous best, I could hit a 14.6X. If only I knew what RPM I was launching at. My autotap does not like staying connected to my PCM, plus it sucks looking over at the passenger seat.

Well, my old run was in June in terrible weather and the only reason I had a new best was because of my awesome launch. I also replaced my valvespring and got rid of my valvefloat which could have affected my trap.

ha... possibly

i'd say you're trapping enough to hit mid or low 14s, just gotta get that short time in a happy place...

Im working on it. I just ordered a set of M&H Muscle Car Drag Tires 275/50/15. ;)

I forgot, I did port my throttle body since the last time too. I remove the lower half of the post and I still run the screen. That could have helped my topend.

Congrats!

The conditions at Island were really good yestereday. I was up there with Tim (njspeeder) and one of our other friends to spectate. Got to see a few of your runs.

What suspension mods do you have on the truck?

Its got a 3/4 drop.
2" drop spindles
1" drop springs
3" drop leafs in the back
1" drop shackles
1 1/4" front swaybar
Polyurathane frontend bushings

I have a set of homemade caltrac traction bars that work great. I hit a 2.07 60' once which I think is really good for a pickup truck with street tires. I just need a tach so I can do it more consistently.

Heres a video of the run, just ignore the Camaro SS that ran a 12.5 against me. :(

If you get that '60 down to where you had it before (2.0 or lower) you'll be seeing mid-low 14s, nice time btw.

Went to the track again yesterday with my new tires. I am very pleased with my new times considering I didnt get any better 60' times. I ran a 14.50 @ 93.8 with a 2.15 60'. I will post the whole slip later.

I am not sure if I was spinning or not, but the tires are very sticky and I need much more practice with them. The time I gained yesterday was due to being able to wind out 1st gear. I ussually go part throttle into 2nd because of lack of traction on street tires.

Thanks, Im impressed with that trap. I actualy hit a 94.0 in a slower run. But my raceweight is around 3100. Im to affraid of pulling the belt, I just cant help but wonder what my trap would be if I held out for the 5-speed. Probably 97-98.
