  • how much does it help

    i currently run 14.3s @ 95 mph,i have a cam with 512 lift. how much of a gain will i see if i port and polish the heads and intakes? the car has about 127,000 miles on it, should i seafoam it to?

      if your going to pull the heads just clean the intake while you have it off...

          I think you would definately be running 13's, maybe a little quicker.

            with teh larger cam the gain from head and intake work will definately show a nice gain. it is hard to say in terms of et since that has so much to do with how well your chassis is working.
            i would expect to pick up 20+ hp at the wheels once the set up is all tuned out.
            sea foaming it will help it too, not a huge power gain, bu tthe idle quality and mileage will go up.

              thanks for all the input guys. i guess that will be my next mod then. i'll let you know how it goes next race season. stupid snow!

                i just got a quote from the local machine shop. is 500-600 a good price to get them done. that is for the intakes and the heads to be completely ported all the way through.

                  sounds good since you're getting the heads done too...i dont know much but i know that just the new ported upper and lower intakes from supersix are $500 ($80 core)...13s na...that swhat im talkin bout [img]smile.gif[/img]

                          he was going to charge me 700 but he brought it down to 5-600 because its a V6.
