  • So close...and yet so far...

Had another great night at Englishtown tonight. Heres the run down.

    R/T .664
    60' 1.893
    330 5.771
    1/8 8.965
    MPH 76.77
    1000 11.721
    1/4 14.041
    MPH 97.17

    raceweight 3230 lbs
    temp 51*
    humidity 62%
    baro 30.19

I guess I can attribute this to a number of factors including great weather, no headwind, and I got rid of a cute little thing called COT or cat overtemp protection. Basically GM thought a good way to protect the cat from melting was dump a lot of fuel when the engine is under load. Since my cat "fell off", I have no need for it.

Anyway, heading back to the track on friday and I hope to be back to post some 13s.

I also found a nice two-step launch technique that I can adjust with HPTuners. Basically I set the rev limiter in Park/Neutral to whatever I want to launch at. As soon as the clutch is engaged it goes back to the in-gear rev limiter (6000rpm). So basically after I am staged, I put the gas pedal to the floor and leave it there until I cross the finish line. Everyone needs HPTuners!

I use the same launch technique. It works great. What rpm are you using with the DRs and 4.10s? (is that a 12 bolt?)

I am using 3000 rpms with street tires and 3.42 and I get very consistent 2.1 60' times.
