That's pretty lame, I mean who wants to chop up their interior to put in a cage when all they have is bolt-ons!? I don't know many people that would put a cage in their stock Vette, I know I wouldn't!

LS1s dont have to do it cause they run that stock. if you run in the range of have rules like that stock, they dont apply

Just another reason to stick with NHRA member tracks. If the IHRA wants to discourage use of their member tracks with rediculous rules, let them, I for one could give a ****.

I'm suprised with this. IHRA has always been a little more lax on their rules than NHRA. Earlier this year a rulechange exactly like this was discussed for the NHRA, but they declined it.

it does too apply to them, it just depends on if the track enforces it or not. most likely not, most IHRA tracks ive been too are pretty leniate on their rules.

                            hehe, I don't think that'll stand.
the NHRA wanted to do the same thing at the beginning of this season, and it was either repealed or never happened.

one of the local tracks, edgewater, the NHRA track around here, is EXTREMELY nazi-esque. you run a 13.999 with no helmet and you get a big H on your hood till you get a helmet on. Last year at the end of the year if you had T tops you had to run with them out  (because a few bozos didnt know how to close the handle on their tops

The IHRA track, tri-state, is MUCH more lax...
seen guys there wearing shorts and tank tops runnin.
I ran 12.9-13.1 ALL DAY there with no helmet even in the car and no one said a single thing.

This, if it goes into effect, will not only greatly suprise and disappoint me, but will cause a huge loss in business for a lot of tracks nationwide

This is why i race at Cecil. You can run 10's and they still dont check for a helmet.......

                              i love that place
