This site does not list a 68 Nova, so I had to list my car as a Camaro. My Nova has a 406 stroker with 5 speed Tremec TKO-600. We drive the car about 8,000 miles a year, and show the car as well, taking 4 1st place trophies this year. I believe we had the 1st set of these tires in my area, and everyone who has driven the car, cannot belive the traction. With over 530HP, those tires actually hook almost like drag radials. In the rain they are awesome as well. For any muscle car of any year, I strongly recommend them. With VERY spirited driving I still have 50% tead left on the rears at 12,000 miles. Any other 275 wide tire I have tried spins so bad it rarely lasts 4,000 miles. The KD G-Force is a must have for a heavy foot and powerful car.

After driving 230,000 miles on my 84 SVO and 35,000 miles on my 02 GT I have to say these are the best tire Ive used to date. Living in the Ohio River Valley I drive a lot of twisty roads as well as highways. The dry weather handling of this tire is second to none that Ive ever driven (and Ive tried several different makes) and the wet weather handling is also the best of all the performance tires Ive tried. And, I can actually move around in the snow - which I couldnt do with some other brands.

I have these tires on a supercharged 2001 Saleen Mustang and by far they have been the best tires I have used on any of my mustangs for the past 10 years. I have 40,000 miles on the current set and they appear to have at least another 10 to 15k miles to go before they even get close to needing to be replaced. It is amazing due to the tight suspension and handling characterisitcs of the car and the fact the tires cannot be rotated due to differing wheel widths/setback from fron to rear. The car originally had Pirellis which only lasted 12,000 and nothing has been changed other than the tires.

For the strip, I would say KDs then KDWs.

But I would get street tires for the street and drag tires for the strip.

Getting street tires for the stip won't get you very far. At least a street legal drag tire..

yeah i just dont feel like changing tires every time..i go to the track like every week during the season..so im looking for a street tire..but one that would be best for the track (as far as street tires) ..so you're saying the KDs would be better than the KDWs?

KD = Key feature Dry traction
KDW = Key feature Dry and Wet Traction.

I think the tire made solely for dry would work better. Haven't used them though.

Dude, I change tires every time I go to the track. It doesn't take more than 10 min to change both rear tires.

Get a pair of drag radials and use them for the strip. Then use your daily drive tires for the road.
I usually change my tires the day before I hit the track and drive to the track on my drag radials.

I have had my BFG comp T/A's since April 2004 and have had over 75 passes on them. They still have good tread. I do not used them as a daily driver so I could not tell you how long they last.
As for the 16" wheels, I think the best size tire for you would be 255/50/16

The new MT ET Streets look to be very good tires, although I don't know anyone first hand that has tried them.

I know the BFG Drag Radials are good, that's what Little G runs on his car and he has no problem dead hooking from a 5k rpm launch.

I love my BFG drag radials. Yes, I use the water bax and I have dead hooked every single time and never spun. But then again, I dont have that much torque being added to the rear. :D

Its not that bad, just get a hydraulic jack(everyone should ahve one) and jack the car up by the pumpkin, probably take less then 10 min to change the wheels.

awesome...im currently using the 16" wheels for snows but im definitely putting the BFGs on in the spring..i was reading testimonials on tirerack and one guy was able to go from 14.8 to 14.2 JUST by switching to these tires from street tires...which is definitely what i need to do because i either just spin too much..or get a slow launch...and i have to wait till the 60' to hit the juice on streets...these will definitely help with my quest for 12s and a 1.XX 60' ..thanks! I went from an average 15.900 to an average 15.764 with the tires. I also went from an average 2.41 60' to an average 2.34 with the drag radials.

launch is pretty much racing.

exluding hp

half of drag racing is the first 60' rest is being able to coast to the finish line.
