Since it was such a nice day today, I decided to fire my A/C. Only problem is the 560k6 belt keeps walking up onto the edge of the alternator pully. This means its too loose, right?

Yeah its walking to the front of the pully. It's only one rib of the belt that keeps jumping over the edge.
The a/c compressor is still there and i put the old belt back on until I can get this belt issue sorted out.2002 Pewter V6 Camaro M5 <br /><br />Quickest stock-motor N/A V6 4th Gen F-body.<br />2nd Quickest N/A V6 4th Gen F-body overall.<br />mods: Gear, weight reduction, tuning <br /><br />Fear the Gear. 13.585 @ 100.05 1.827 60\'<br /><br /><br /><a href=\"http://www.NJFBOA.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.NJFBOA.org</a>

how do you measure the play? It fits on and feels snug enough but I can't really tell how tight the tensioner is. I will try a 549k6, which is the next size down and see how that does.2002 Pewter V6 Camaro M5 <br /><br />Quickest stock-motor N/A V6 4th Gen F-body.<br />2nd Quickest N/A V6 4th Gen F-body overall.<br />mods: Gear, weight reduction, tuning <br /><br />Fear the Gear. 13.585 @ 100.05 1.827 60\'<br /><br /><br /><a href=\"http://www.NJFBOA.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.NJFBOA.org</a>

adjust the tension to where you think it should be, then push down on the broad part of the belt in the middle of its longest run... like you're playing a guitar. but don't pluck it, just apply steady pressure.
you want about an 1/2" of play when you push down, then another 1/2" or so when you pull up, for a total of 1" of play... strictly an eyeball measurement.

with the electric water pump and ac delete craig is gonna have a crazy short belt. hopefully he will come to his senses and get a manual steering rack soon for an even shorter belt

I'm still having issues with this belt. The next size down that anyone carries is 538k6. And to boot, the moron at Autozone tried to look up my car after I told him the application. He's like, "look right here 945k6 thats the one." I just walked away.
From what I've found online 549k6 exists and Goodyear makes it. I'll check Napa and see if I can order it if they don't carry.2002 Pewter V6 Camaro M5 <br /><br />Quickest stock-motor N/A V6 4th Gen F-body.<br />2nd Quickest N/A V6 4th Gen F-body overall.<br />mods: Gear, weight reduction, tuning <br /><br />Fear the Gear. 13.585 @ 100.05 1.827 60\'<br /><br /><br /><a href=\"http://www.NJFBOA.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.NJFBOA.org</a>
