i believe shirl went 11.90 something ONCE on a setup very similar to that...

sorry man. it just wasn't meant to be.
what "wasn't meant to be"? After re-reading... I think you're talking about 10's...
Two weeks in a row I ran eleven second timeslips. Best ET (see sig.) second time was 11.9 something...I'd have to look in my scrapbook for the EXACT ET. Had a 1.672 60ft on that run and my mph was a little lower than the 11.86. Ran 11's twice beforing saying the hell with this, I reached my goal (which was 11.8 btw) and I could care less about beating the living crap outta my car anymore. Maybe someday I'll go back to the track, but not anytime soon. I like my car in one piece and pushed my luck far enough for about 7 years.

a 10bolt has been proven plenty strotn to run 10's with by enough people. i would look into a bit more gear though. 3.73's with a stock height tire would help, 4.10's with a stock height tire woudl get teh job done.

In an automatic they have been. In a manual, not likely, unless you have gobs of power where u can still run some weenie DR's, cut 2.2 60', and still run high 10's at 140+mph.

10s are possible, my friend ran a 13.9 in his v6 stang (just a few bolts ons and 4.10 gears) on a 100 shot of wet nitrous and no traction. It was also at the worst track (Orlando Speed World) and terrible weather (90 degrees 90% humidity). The car wasn't tuned either. Our cars are faster stock than v6 mustangs so that means with just the nitrous we're already 13s. Then you add traction with dr's or slicks (watch out for the rear end with slicks though) and better weather at a better track, then a blower and tune it. You may want more aggressive gears to do it (4.10s really aren't as bad as people put them out to be) but I'm sure you can squeeze a 10.9 run. Direct port nitrous is a step up from wet as well so thats even better plus you mightdo a 125 shot so don't be discouraged. Oh and just from what I've seen and experienced, mods definatly compliment nitrous, not the other way around.

Yes, the ten bolt is a lot stronger than people think. You just have to be smart about using it.

10s are possible????....yes. Anything is possible. However, check out LS1tech.com. Take a look at what it takes to get 10s in an F-body. Starting out with an LS1 it is still very hard to get into the 10s. These cars are running 1.5 60' times and 450-500 RWHP. Numbers like that would be VERY hard to hit with a V6.

Like I said, anything is possible. However, 10s in a V6 without $20,000 in mods is not likely.

You can do it just not as easily as you think...

1st you need traction(tires/suspension)
2nd gonna need a stall or beefier clutch to get better launch
3rd upgrade drivetrain components for steps one and 2, because you might start grenading stuff ESPECIALLY if you are running a stock T5
4th pretty much a newly upgraded fuel system, your current one ain't gonna cut it
5th gonna need a tuned motor that will handle these tolerances and likely head and cam work.

Its possible like said they have gotten FWD tanks into the 10s, you cna get a v6 f-body in the 10s since we have a better suspension setup.

Work on getting to the 12s, am low nad keep the big targetsin mind down the road.

also once you break into the 13s I hear its twice as hard to gain each 1/10th then it is going from 16s to 15s and such.

Whole thing is tuning and getting the mods to work together. Then learning to drive it at the track. I remember you were frustrated with this setup because of some issues. I was frustrated too for a while until I finally got autotap. There is no tuning tool for my 96'that I know of, which is why I had to do readings and tuning on my own. My PCM has no adjustments to it, it's stock. I didn't even go to the dyno for a wideband because I don't trust the guy around here that dynos cars. He's thrown codes on cars and then acts like nothing's wrong...usually it's just the abs sensor getting knocked off..plus, he's gotta be pushing 350lbs at least and I'd rather not have someone that big messing with my car, driving it and doing holeshots/runs on the sidestreets (which is partially how he tunes/checks the car)...Anyway, do you have HP or another program to tune with?
