You can get a 97 PCM and use HP Tuners to tune your car.. ;)

Shirl..hell no would i want someone doing that with my car either! lol ..i have HP Tuners..i have increased shift points, rev limiter, fuel cut off, played with fan activation temps..however since i run nitrous i have left the timing stock..im not sure that it has really decreased my ET though..do you think i should just go back to the stock PCM for this setup since that seems to work (VERY) well for you?..then the only changes i would make would be recalibrating for the 3.42 gear ratio and the 32# fuel injectors

also..since your PCM is stock..what do you use to pull timing?..im sure for the boost you just use the boost timing module..but what about for the nitrous?..do you bother pulling timing for that or just run on stock?

OK is this crap. One dude is like "ya 10's are possible, my friend ran a 13.9 in his V6 mustang on a 100 shot"

Listen, if you want to learn about 12s, 11s, 10's, go over to LS1Tech and see some of the mods that THOSE GUYS have to do to get that far. Then imagine what we'd have to do to get that far, i.e. a lot more.

I wish you lots of luck, but IMO why don't you find 12s and then come back and post.

edit: OMG, sorry art, didn't realize you posted the same thing. Must have been subliminal as I skimmed the thread.

eh..i could probably break into the 12s with my dry system alone..nevermind the dry system and the blower..nevermind the dry system and a direct port system..not so concerned about that..the car is running mid - high 14s right now n/a..the blower puts about 70 - 75hp to the wheels..to break into the 13s i only need about 40..after that..to break into the 12s i need about 60..i think a little tuning and a 100 - 125 shot will take care of that ;)

I personally think you can get high 11's out of your combo if everything holds up and it gets worked out.

About the stock 10 bolt...garbage. I have gone as quick as 1.63 on it in my Z28, but I rebuilt it twice which cost me $800 doing it myself. I could have spent another $1K and got a rearend that would never give me problems. I eventually did get a 12 bolt and basically pissed away a chunk of time and $800.

You will see guys post about it...luck, and only luck. There are an army of guys snapping them in the 13's.

Just like many things in life...easy to say what you want but getting and doing is a whole different story.

11s would rock..but like Shirl was saying..i dont want to be pushing my luck every time i go out..i love to race so during the season im out like every week..so i'd really like to just be well into the 12s..not like a 12.9 - 12.8 ..too inconsistant..too close to low 13s ..i'd like to run mid 12s so im pretty consistantly running them...being out every week..and running the car all the time practicing over the winter has allowed me to progress pretty quickly i think..given all the info from you guys here too of course..when i first started at the track i was running high 14s - low 15s..finished with a PB of 13.60 ..now as soon as i put the blower and injectors in..and drop the fuel jet in the bypass T to a 30 - 36 to increase fuel pressure..im expecting mid 12s..i would expect that from doing gears, injectors, weight reduction, increased shot, increased boost by 2psi, and drag tires..and of course tuning for the changes

10s can be had with a stock 10 bolt Just dont expect it to last long

haha..yeah..i mean dont get me wrong..i think i COULD hit 10s if i REALLY wanted to..but as a lot of more experienced members said..i wouldnt happen without breaking a lot of expensive sh*t lol..maybe i'll do it when im done with that car and moving on to a new one..i'll run 10psi and a 200 wet shot and see if it even makes it to the 1/8 haha :D

Don't forget to do the other things you need to run 10's like a full cage and suspension. My mustang had heads, cam, intake, suspension and 175 shot to run 10.97 @123.

In a manual, not likely, unless you have gobs of power where u can still run some weenie DR's, cut 2.2 60', and still run high 10's at 140+mph. </font>
10bolts have been behind plenty of 3rd and 4th gen stick cars and lived healthy happy lives.
also, why would you cut 2.2 short times? look at little g, he has a 5spd, he cuts high 1.8's and low 1.9's all the time and his rear doesn't make the slightest sound after a hundred or more shots.

lastly, if you run 140+ and are only in the high 10's, your chassis combo must suck monkey balls. you can easily get into the 10's with out breaking out of the 120's, i have even seen a lot of guys who's cars leave really hard get in around 118mph.

cars are not complicated, going fast does not require mega bucks parts and hard to live with combo's. think simple, think parts matching. you will go faster and have a better built car.
