• Ran the car tonight, pretty happy with the results...

I put hte poly mount in last night and ran the car today... nothing fancy but this section is kinda slow figure I woudl spice it up a bit.

Mods...
-slp take off LSD(first night running with it)
-poly tranny mount(first night running with it)
-plugs/wires
-unhooked exhaust
-unhooked intake
-unhooked drivebelt.
-Running at the wear bar 245/50/16 yokohama AVS ES100s on 16x8 firebired straight 5-spokes

I pulled the jack and spare, but likely didn't do much I had 2/3s a tank of gas and a 30-40 lbs. bag of tools.

Best run of the night

60' 2.080(new best)
330 6.036
1/8th 9.343(my best ever was a 9.299)
mph 74.30
1000 12.184
1/4 14.577
mph 94.05

So I am getting there... not to bad, my car was running a bit heavy, and even though it was cold, wasn't ideal weather, 69% humidity.

But all in all pretty happy, pulled 3 2.0s 60's, I still want my 1.9 though, I wonder if I coudl hit it on my 275 kuhmos...

Try putting the Kuhmos on the back and inflating the front tires up to 50 or 60 psi while you are at the track. If you do, make sure that you remember to air them down when you are done racing.

ALready run the fronts that high, also forgot to add I pulled the front sway bar as well..

As for the kuhmos in the rear... not sure if I wanna try it yet...I only had a real traction problem on my first run, and that was just the track, I was one of the first 10 people to run and the track was cold, I hooked and went then at the topend of first the rear started to slide out, so I put the clutch in let the car straighten itself and was fast enough to be going into 2nd. I was also running 35psi in the rears that run(I like to start high and work my way down) I also don't wanna go into running a bigger heavier tire with more rolling resistance and rotating mass, until I need it. Before with the open diff my launches felt like I was on the brink of traction, now I feel like I am pretty confident with my luanches.

I was also running 32 psi in the rears.

Actually I was a little worried about my trapspeeds, like mid december I hit 2 95.5 trapspeeds, and my car ran 95.5 on its best run... BUt like I said, I was running 2/3rds a tank and ~30-40 lbs of tools I usually do not run. and even though it was cold still 65% humidity.

Might just be me out of practice shifting, I can tell I need to ride 2nd gear out farther, it doesn't quit feel like I am hitting the sweet spot the first part of 3rd, and that it goes abotu 500 rpms then hits the sweet spot.

Whatever I might hit the track up again on friday, if the weather looks good.

that weight definitely held you back..i think losing that weight and running on 1/8 - 1/4 tank of gas will make a definite difference..weight reduction did SO much for my car..way more than i was even hoping for...BTW..how was it running without the front sway bar?..i ask cuz this is something i have considered

Jsut do it and try it...

I am sure ytou will be pleased may not be worth yanking every trip to the track since its a pain in the ***...(but that depends how often you hit the track and waht you conside alot of work) but I swap my front wheels every trip and its not hard, Its alot easier if you have both off at once, I used to do it one at a time, was a bit of a pain but if you jack the car up but the K-member, get both wheels off, it comes off in less then 5 min.

I'm sure V6bob will come in and say its highly dangerous and you will just bust into 360s driving down the road ;) But its not that bad, car has alot more "sway" and doesn't handle as well, but I have driven cars that are much worse.

Just be prepared to have alot more oversteer, and don't stress the tires any on a turn, with my lsd, and it, I had to flog it a little but the rear end breaks loose and goes sideways ALOT easier, but like I said I was trying to do it fore a little fun(first time I have had my car completely cleaned out of all tools and my LSD in )

with it off, its not like driving a camaro, its like driving my old 92 GMC Jimmy with traction bars and dead shocks.

2nd floor here... and I have to park a little bit away to have a spot with an open spot next to me so I have a little room to do the swap.

Buddy of mine has a SS Camaro that runs in the 11s. It is his daily drive and he took off his front sway bar and never put it back. He says he can barly tell. He is constantly on me to yank mine. I haven't done it yet but I might.

Very nice, looks pretty good.

Can you post the other times too?

When you say unhoked exhaust and intake..... no muffler? or not cat and muffler?

And, was it just the TB and nothing in front of it?

What track were you running at?

<--- just left Vermont this past weekend with ALL that snow on the ground!!!!

screw weight reduction, its almost like cheating but nobody seems to care. haha
i think you should get below 10's before you start tearin apart the car
