I am just curious how much they weigh, if anyone knows. I weighed a stock one and it only weighs 46 lbs. Are there other reasons to use them besides weight loss?

you can have it made for a pinto rack so you can easily ditch the powersteering setup
clearance if you are running a forward swept set of headers and want to have a downpipe from a turbo that goes over the K member
and they can be made to be stronger than the stock peice-Aaron, AKA ATL2001
93 3.4L
www.ilfba.com

I ditched the stocker to a PA racing mild steel drag k member.
I think (and I searched) the reduction was around 20-22 pounds?

True.... chrome moly is MUCH lighter..... but... reserve that for track only car!
They have been known to "snap" when used on the street.
They DO NOT flex..... and when "shocked" like driving into a pothole.... can snap.Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
