I have a 3.4 firebird should i manually shift or just leave it in auto for the 1/4 mile and what about a shift kit

I leave mind in overdrive and let the car do it for me.
Shift kits are nice [img]smile.gif[/img] Check drivetrain section for best recommended.... I like the b&m shift KIT stage 2.... NOT b&m shift plusRace car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

I also leave mine in overdrive, but I manually stall to about 1500-1700 rpms when I am on the line. Shift kit would probably help, but for the big boost, get slicks and a 2800 rpm stall converter. Expensive but well worth it if you can do it. I’m new. I actually don’t own a Camaro or firebird. I do have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 fly by throttle and 4l60e. This is installed in a 1980 Triumph TR7...3 weeks ago -
