Little G if you can you should put your car back to stock and sell it and get a lower mileage 99 or so and mod the piss out of that, might be able to round up like $1-3k more in modding money. [img]smile.gif[/img]
Will look the same and won't matter since you won't be driving it daily. Also surprised you haven;t gotten a fiberglass hood yet.

Craig wouldn't sell - he loves his car. First car he bought new. He has a fiberglass hood (Ultra-z), but it weighs about the same as stock, so he's trying to sell it to get money for something lighter ;)
He also does drive the car daily, he doesn't have another vehicle.

It's an Ultra-Z he bought directly from SLP, still in white gelcoat. Not sure how much it weighs, but it's within a few pounds of stock. It has a crack near the scoop, but you don't notice it unless you look for it, and our friend who is the head painter for a local bodyshop said it would be very simple to fix while prepping the hood for paint.
I don't remember what he was asking for it, you may want to search the for sale section to see if he posted it.
Well since I'll never catch up to you guys n/a I'll give up and offer some tips...
You guys both have hardtops, right pull the headliner and remove som of the metal on crossmember for the t-tops(over the windows) Maybe even dremel the entire rain channel for the t-top weatherstripping off as well. all flimsy metal that you don't need.
you won't lose any structural, safety or any integrity at all, might shave ~10-15 lbs of metal. I suggest using a dremel, sparks will fly so use glasses since you are underneath and cover your interior from the sparks.
-Remove all the support stuff for the antennae since you have no radio.
-see if you can swiss cheese the parts of the rear crossmember in the rear, bethween the tail lights even behind the taillight, form inside the trunk. The sheet metal behind the "berger panel"
-Craig you have like a shop helping you or something right, get some air tools and use air hammers to remove the heat shield over the Cat(its a thick piece of metal just over the CAT), you don't run a cat so it shoudln't matter.
-Remove rubber shift boot(that thing is like 2 lbs.(under center console)
-Remove bumpstops for rear axle
-airhammer the plates on the rear axle for the bumpstops
-remove hood and hatch shocks
Done upper and lower A arms yet?
-if your cheap convert to a lt1 break setup, smaller rotors and calipers, shave any metal you can off of them, probably get a setup fro $50 or less.

good info, eric. I'll be taking my whole interior out this weekend to get to the airbags, and some misc wiring. Would be a sinch to take out the headliner and get to those things too. Thanks.
Its pretty simple, you will still need to leave some fo the support but you could easily remove half of them.
I have come up with other stuff just can't think of it at the moment. I'll start posting up for you and james...

T-tops or hardtop?
the metal I suggested for a hardtop doesn't have any structural support.

I knew you had a lot of weight reduction, but that list amazed me.
As for selling it...F-bodies have **** for resale value...he wouldn't get much out of a '97 anyway, assuming no weight reduction and in absolute PERFECT condition.

I was talking about little G's its possible he still owes more then its worth [img]smile.gif[/img] James is in that spot of no return on f-bodies. Its jsut worth more ot the owner then what you could sell it for. My 94 was like that till it was gonna cost me like $3k just to make me happy to live with it and it was still gonna be a 94with 130k, that the exterior showed it had a long life
so not worth my money [img]smile.gif[/img]
