• First time at the track since the supercharger

Well, tonight will be my first time back at the track for this season. It'll also be my first time back to the track since I had my supercharger. I was wondering, do any of you guys know if the one step lower heat range plugs will affect my et at all? I still have them in from last fall and haven't had a chance to install my new Bosch platinum 4+. I just wonder if the difference in the plugs will take away any power because of the change in heat range and the fact that the NKG's I have aren't platinum plugs.

Anyways, I think tonight will go well and I might break some new N/A bests, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for that. I'll post my times later tonight.

Keep the +4's out. Go with some nice NGK plugs, or simple AC Delcos

What did you run?

Thanks for your imput guys, I ended up swapping in the 4+'s. My idle smoothed alot, and throttle response feels better also, so I'm pleased, concidering how much of a PITA job it is. Why do you guys not like the platinum? I always read totally mixed reviews on them, so I wasn't really sure, figured I'd give them a shot.

As for the track, they had it closed for constrution to the Oval track, so they closed the drag strip until this coming friday, so I'll have to wait until then to get my new times, but I'll definately post them on Friday.

Thanks for your imput guys.

I have never had good luck with bosch plugs. Sales people try to push them on you like crazy.

Alright, here are my 2 best times for the night, before my car started heating up. I'm quite impressed, the SLP CAI I added dropped me by 2 tenths. Which means that the CAI and my catback together dropped my time a total of around .5 seconds. I'm amazed! Anyways, here are the times:

Track: Bud Park, Edmonton, Ab, 2700 ft ASL
Temp: Around 17*C

60': 2.372
330: 6.687
1/8: 10.227
MPH: 70.19
1000: 13.255
1/4: 15.840
MPH: 86.91

And then I let my car cool down even a little more than it was on my best run, and as you can see by the slip, I spun which killed my ET, as I was set up to beat my best (look how close the end result was to my best run for how terrible the 60 compared to it).

60': 2.403
330: 6.722
1/8: 10.265
MPH: 69.95
1000: 13.303
1/4: 15.891
MPH: 86.80

With the altitude correction my best works out to a 15.33 @ 89.85MPH, which is not too bad at all.

(just put that in so I dont get a bunch of "hey there's something wrong with your car" comments from ppl who have no clue what altitude correction is).

So it was a great night, I'm very pleased! Especially since the crappy BFG's I have on my car are almost bald.

New tires + harder launch + 3.73's I bought and haven't installed yet = kick a** new N/A bests.

It's going to be a great year.

MOSER 9 Inch is what u need.
after i swap this 3.08 rear axle im throwing in a 3.42 lsd axle for the time being so ic an save the 2500 bux for the rear end. but means i can run slicks with no worrys.
the only thing i hate now is right now my rear end is whining. and slightly rough on decel now. not much longer left in it. im debating whether or not to go to the track on monday now. this rear wont make it if i can trap 110.it wont make it if i hook up. btw those 60fts arent bad but they show that u spinned quite a bit.

I'm not sure what time you went, but I used the METAR at Edmonton airport from 20:00Z and got a density altitude of 3200 ft. That leads to a corrected time of 15.22 @ 90.5. :D

Just cut those 60s down and you'll be movin!

*L* That's wicked, I should just start saying 3200 ft instead! The BudPark website says that they were 2700 ft above sea level so I went by that. 15.22 sounds alot better to me though. ;)

That's the altitude of the track above sea level. You gotta correct that for temperature and pressure to get Density Altitude. That's the altitude that it actually "feels" like. Because it depends on the weather, it's always changing.

Oh, I see. That's really good news than, even better than I thought I did! What formula did you use to include temp and pressure? That would definately be a good thing to know.

Very nice!

Practice is key.

Good base line.

Platinum plugs..... I've run them..... 20 miles later car ran all rough and poopy.

Champion copper plugs got me into the 13's N/A w/ 180 RWHP ;)

I wouldn't steer any of my v6 peeps wrong
