• Stock 3.4L Times...

Just curious if anyone is running or has ran one stock and what kind of times you got??
When I first raced my car stock it ran a best of 17.3 or 17.5. I managed to squeeze a 16.912 out of it after installing Accel wires, a K&N cold air intake, pulleys, and Nitto's but I never really felt the car was running what it should.

i think it has a lot to do with the altitude, the weather, the casting of the heads, and the driver ;)

                  nah, its the driver.
-if you put two of the same cars together in a race.....and try to think bout-it!-k- then let them at it, your gonna only have one winner.

                  ...with different drivers of course

with a cheep cold air intake and a 80 series flowmaster w/ stock piping I would run consistant 16.8's/16.9's. then I once got a great tail wind and got a 16.1 . havent beat that time to date with the new mods lol

I raced a stock 5-speed 3.4L firebird at the track once and it ran a 17-flat.

Ok sounds like I'm not doing as bad as I thought for the most part... especially considering my car was never in tip top shape

                          high 15 bone stock?

I am gonna have to call shenanigans on that one...

What was the whole slip? How many times did you do it? Any weight reduction? Sure the previous owners didn't do some mods? What track was it at? What were the conditions?

I pulled a high 15 once with pretty minimal mods but I just don't see anyone having the mph for it on the stock exhaust. And my 3.4L, I'm gonna have to say was the lightest "in full trim" 4th gen f-body you could have owned.

Gotta watch that, I raced a kid in a 2000 5-speed with more mods then me, less miles on his car, and he ran conistant 16.6s

btw corey you and Adam should come out to the "newer" UCF car club meets...

we meet generally on wed nights 3rd floor of the parking garage closest to the arena... around 9:30. So its rain or shine...

if the commone f-body people all meet up(and bring their cars), we have like 5-6 f-bodies. T-punk is usually there ever week so I am not the only v6er.
