So i was on my way home from work today cruising at about 55 and a 1996 TransAm was on my *** so i punched it. I didnt down shift into 3rd first i just punched it in 4th and let it ride. He emidietly got in the other lane and punched it. He Couldnt Pass Me ! He gaind on me at the rate of about 1 mile an hour between 80 and 110 but never passed me. I started catching up with trafic fast so i started to break, of course he used this opportunity to pass me and almost kill himself trying to stop in time for the trafic.I was surprised to hang with an LT1 near the top end like that. Yea its a 9 year old LT1 but hey its an LT1.

No it was a v8 i heard it when he passed. Not so hard to believe if it was stock. 245HP vs 285HP. Im basicly stock with the exception of the high flow intake and exhaust and some tuneing. But the stock TA exhaust is more high flow than my stock exhaust was so im only evening the race.

245 HP??? Haha if you wanna bench race do it correctly. I mean come on. A tune + intake + exhaust (probably just a catback) would give you at MOST 25. What did you get it tuned for anyway? You dont have any extensive work. Anyway, contiuning with the bench racing. Now, 225 hp vs. 285 (rated at, could be more, could be lower due to the age of car), you lose. Hmmm, anyway, lets move on to torque. LT1 has about 60 more lb. ft. than you still. His car weighs about the same as yours. He most likely had better gearing. LT1's are torque monsters, they're a beast from down low, but they're not horrible at the top-end. im sorry dude but from 55 you would get raped. v6 or a near dead lt1.

Well the way i add it up +12 for exhaust , about +12 for intake and about +18 for air fule ratio tune and timing advance on 93 octane. These are numbers i get when i use the search . add that to 200 and you get 242, so i rounded up a hair. My engine has 50k on it and my tranny and clutch have about 1k. As for gears I guess that depends on weather it was a auto or not. Its either 3.42 or 2.73.

your car stock puts about 180-190 to the ground. intake adds about 3-5rwhp at most. so now youre at 193rwhp at best. you probably picked up around 12 hp with that "highflow" exhaust. so that adds up to a whopping total of 205rwhp-ish. im taking a wild guess that you used a hypertech for tuning? if you did lol @ you for that
now lets look at a stock a4 and m6 lt1
A4 lt1s put down 250-260rwhp and 305rwtq on the reg.
M6 lt1s put down about 270ishrwhp and 315ishrwtq.
so your going to tell me that your near stock car with basic bolt ons and "tuninglol" held off a well maintained lt1 from a roll up till 110? :rolleyes: the lt1 would have eaten you up by 110.
