awesome! ..well since its an auto..like i said the launch is going to be the most important thing..i run drag radials..so NA i can leave them fully inflated..stall to 1800 - 2000 rpms and then floor it off the line without spin..if you're running street tires you probably will not be able to stall all the way without spinning..the key is to find the spot where you have the most tire pressure, highest stall, and least amount of spin (hopefully none)

no burning out on street tires either..that will just make them worse..go around the water box (you'll see a lot of imports and other people doing this too) ..then get almost up to the line..stall and give the tires a quick snap..just a really quick spin to clean them..then pull up to the line

good luck man! ..keep all your slips..cant wait to see the numbers

eh. i didnt do so hot. ran three times, best was 15.8 @ 85 MPH. this was my first real time racing, and it was very hot/humid out. oh well. better luck next time i guess.

Miles away from you low 14 huh? I told ya so... even once it cools down you will not be close to a low 14. Low 15's just like evryone said. Glad you had fun tho, keep trying.

                    What was your slips...

don't get discouraged no one does phenominal first tiem they go out to the track...

Tips I suggest, learn the track, so you are not wasting time figuring out how things work, and focusing on your runs.

don't run street tires lower then 28psi in the rear.

and for the launch, its just about finessing and doing the launch.

What kind of wheels were you using? Also what was the temperature like as well? What mods do you have?

i dont have slips because their machine wasnt working. so you just got your 1/4 time with the MPH.

i have Hankook 275/40 ZR17 Aurora K103 tires. have them right around 30psi.

mods: pacesetter headers, k/n air charger, 2.5" flowmaster exhaust, 3" hi flow metal'cat, 3.42 gears with stock LSD, and a jet stage 2 chip.

it was probably 90 degrees out, very humid.

The mph is a little slow...

Coudl be related to the weather, and tires. 275s on 17s is alot of weight. Do you still have a set of stockers laying around to slap on for the track?

Might be possible to gain like 3 mph on a better day(it is summer still) and with lighter wheels and tires. IF you work on the launch and get it to stall up and go just right I coudl see a high 14 sec pass out fo the car.

ok thanks for the input. i sold my stockers, so these are all i have to work with. next year (long ways away but i have to save up) ill be getting a powerdyne or nitrous.. so i wont have problems with 14s.

why do you think im running such slow times? my car seems like it should be at least .5-.8 faster than it is with my mods.

You don't know your 60'? Weather is a huge factor, you will be fast when it cools down. You should be able to pull a low 15 with some cooler weather, I still doubt 14's tho. If you are going with the powerdyne or n20 you will probaly skip the 14's.

humidity will hurt your time..you definitely want to know your 60's though

as far as the 15.8..not too bad for your first time out..some of us just have tougher luck..hell my car runs 15.6 NA ..and i dont doubt 14s at all..i have been doubted several times myself
