doesn't help that no matter what you do (other than drop your life savings into the car) will cure the horrible airflow the L36 has in the upper RPM band.

LS1 > 3800...true story. Props to some of you guys but any LS1 with some work will destroy your fastest 3800 here.

Some one on this board made 460lb/ft to the WHEELS on nitrous. Right before they blew the intake off. Average dyno for a 100 shot is around 390lb/ft at the wheels. Thats damn close to 450 at the flywheel. My point stands, its still way more than an LS1.

Which means more average HP, and that is what wins races.

your basing it off a STOCK LS1...that's like trying to find a stock 5.0

Seriously you guys have gotten pretty respectable times/numbers but when a simple bolt-on LS1 can trap in the low/mid 110s a 3800 simply isn't going to hang.

bird200 was originally talking about being able to beat a stock/lightly modded LS1 with juice. Can he do it? Probably not with just N20, but with supporting mods, intake, exhaust + gears, I don't see why he shouldn't. This isn't an argument of which is better LS1 or L36, or which can go faster with the same bolt-ons. He just wanted to know if nitrous would be enough to beat the car he would've originally gotten before he got his 6, an LS1.

                what does pwned Mean??
Why hop up a V6, cuz $724 a month for insurance is a little steep.

yeah i just got the fuel pump in so i was staying under 10psi (only hit 12 psi one or 2 times to make sure the HPT fixed worked) and i'm turning it up slow..... also my lap top died and a new one is on order so i can't log anything right now....... so i'm playing it safe for the moment....

Please, fill me in since I know you need a lot more than that.

10-12 psi of boost... he doesn't want to go higher because he didn't have the fuel to support it.

yeah the fuel PSI would drop about 1-2 psi when i hit 12 PSI of boost....... that means not to go there till the new pump is in lol

If it helps any to the first question. I have a 3800 in my camaro. and my dad has a 02 35th ann SS and if i run him on the street by the time the quarter mile passes he has about 6 car lenghts on me. but His car has SLP longtubes, GMMG exhaust, granitelli TB and MAF with the fasttoys ram air. so he is not exactly stock.

My car has the K&N cold air kit. and LS1 muffler on the back along with a LS1 Driveshaft (lighter)

But still all said. he puts about 5-6 car lenghts on me in the quarter. i would base it on that.

                                My QM: 15.43
                                His QM: 12.97

                                Stupid V8 owners! :D
