thank you for the laugh. 15.5 with that setup hahahahah. My car went 15.3 with a CAI and LT1 DS. this was with a 2.460ft too.

nah because i do freeway it from time to time. and that would effectively kill my mileage.

it is only a difference of about 250rpm at 70mph.
most times when gears are installed in cars mileage will stay the same or go up. a little bit more rpm will put the engine in a stronger area of teh torque curve, that means you will use less gas peddle to go the same speed and with the gear advantage there is less effective load on the engine.
for the 1/10th of a mpg you may lose the 1/10 of a second you will knock off your et iws worth it. gears are your friend

3.42 gears = at 60mph my rpms are at 2500rpm
njspider, are you sure youre trying to say 250rpm?

60 m.p.h your doing 2500 rpms? so with 3.73 its 2750 and its 3000 with 4.10 right?

yaba3800 is on the right track.
cruising is not hard on mileage or your engine. it represents low load which is not what eats up fuel. acceleration and sitting at lights kills gas mileage a lot more than a good set of gears ever will.
