    The 'rule of thumb' is 100 pounds off is 0.1 reduction in ET.

    BUT... weight relocation is also a factor.... and where the weight comes off.

    You could yank as much weight as possible from the rear end of the car and go slower due to poor weight transfer and less traction.

    Some people are excited about yanking 4 pounds off their car... I am one of those people... my bird is built for one thing only.... fast in a straight line [img]smile.gif[/img]

        i took off 200 lbs. (system in backseat) and went to 3" exhaust from 2.25.. hopefully my slow 1/4 of 15.8 will go down (it was also 90 degrees out) haha.

            this might help answer your QN's as to weight being a factor for racing... and going fast . CHEAP.

            that is my old van [img]graemlins/banana.gif[/img] . 9.0 @77 with only a hacked off exhuast. and 14 PSI with a K&N. till it blew the stock tranny. [img]graemlins/twak.gif[/img] . i installed a full manual valve body fully tricked out super freaking 1600$ tranny. [img]graemlins/bowdown.gif[/img] . then.. blew the motor. [img]graemlins/twak.gif[/img] $$$$$$$ ,,

            sold it to some local ricer that i was dominating.. and bought me a 5 speed one. :D
            1996 Dark Green V-6 auto. few mods.<br />previous rides:<br />1989 turbo 5 speed dodge caravan (18 PSI, 3\" exhuast,intercooled blah blah)<br />1989 Mustang GT (11.72 @118 many many mods, blown engine a.t.m. :-( )
