I'd definatly run the 50 shot because with full exhaust, 4.10s and PI heads and cams that stang isn't the slow *** high 15, low 16 second car it was stock. I wouldn't be surprised if he ran a 13 (depending on the cams he has).

ok so longtube headers and exhaust along with 4.10s will get it to 13s then. (my friend dustin ran 13.7s all day with his 02 GT with just exhaust)

but 02 Gts are nice motors the 96-98 2v's are the worst motor ford ever produced.. its a low 14 second car. MAYBEEEEEEEEEEE high 13's with the 4.10's. get your gears. and save the money and buy a nice N20 kit. spray a 100 shot and own his booty. your basically going to need about 60-70 HP or at least 1 second faster. but on the street its HP/weight that owns. either dump alot of weight or gain some HP. cheapest fastest easiest way to to spray and pray.

my freinds 96 GT with shift kit. full aftermarket ignition . flowmasters . off road H-pipe , cold air couldnt get out of the 15's lol.. freinds 97 saleen vert base model ran 16's on SPRAY.. have no fear. thos engines are TRASH.

you can either go the easy way and spend 500$ on a nitrous kit and win . or dump ALOT more than that into mods that might effect driveability. including FULL exhaust, gears, shift kits, and a good tune. if not more .

            just something to think about.

The motors are trash because of ****ty heads and cams but he put the good heads and cams in there from the newer motors thus no longer making it trash.

true true. 96-98 GT =215 HP
                99-03 i think? = 260 hp

still i have never seen a 96-98 that impressed me
i think MM&FF did the PI conversion on a car with an exhuast and picked up 26 RWHP...

yeah he has no quarter mile times.. but has lost to cars that have gone 14.3's.. I raced him
from a 15mph roll to about 60mph and he had about 1 car on me if that.. but he did not have the longtubes or gears...

Then again i had nothing at all .. full weight and 3.08 gears...

i do have a NX EFI wet kit i will hook up and im sure i can get him.., but what convertor should i get to go along with the 3.73 gears and n2o..

I want the motor to be strong N/A as well???

gears. will help alot.. nitrous will let you pwnt him sickly.. and a good exhuast will help you make more power on nitrous..

strong yes. im just saying.. if you just want to beat him. dont do to many mods that might effect drivability when you can always just spray someone to prove your point ;)

if hes got 4.10 gears im hoping that he has some good tires to back his *** up when he nails it out of the hole. Cuz stock GTs already have problem getting traction on the street.

but with 3.08 gear/ open rear end, you wont have a chance off the line unless he just sits there and smokes them. Which eventually he'll catch up anyways. So unless you do a few more things i dont think you can win.

Heres a vid of me racing a 99-03 GT a couple months ago.

Well, an ex of mine had a 96 GT A4
                        Mods:
                        Removed silencer
                        Flowmaster cat back
275 40 17's (street tire) in the back

                        She went 15.0 in it.

The car you mention (as long as they are a good driver) could very well be a 13 second car.

For a v6 f body to compete (and this is on the average) I'd think you would need to have the bottle and spray him so that you can stay competitive.

                        Hope that helps.
