• Testing my skills in MOD ET

This Sunday I am making the jump and racing in the MOD ET class at Richmond Dragway in the Saturn. Thankfully since it's 1/8 mile runs there is no ET limit to how slow your car has to be to run in this class. The limit for 1/4 mile is 16.999 and since my car is right at the cusp of the time break, I dont dare run MOD ET in the 1/4 mile.

This should be fun getting a damn 5 sec head start on everyone I run. Hopefully I can make it to 3rd round and win $20 for each round won after that until the finals. If I make it the finals, it's $200 for R/U and $600 to win.

Wish me luck Sunday

Good Luck! I dont ever do worth a **** in that class. On the tree I'm just as good as the best but on the track, my car was way too inconsistent. Out here most of them can run w/in .01-.03 of their dial almost every pass.

Thats the advantage with carbed cars against the EFI cars.
I took 3rd place in the Street and Strip points divison and decided to try someting a little more challenging.

Its not really the carb as much as the automatics, slicks, and also a race engine will run more consistent than a street engine.

Yeah^^^

How close are you to your times usually? Gotta be a good driver to bracket race an M5.

WOW, That was fun. Ran MOD for the first time ever and I have to admit, this class is very tough.
Running in a 10.85 EFI Saturn is a job of it's own trying to dial in.
I was hitting the tree great all day long with a .014 and .018 in T&T.
Of course first round I had to run against Todd Atkinson!!! WHAT my first elimination ever and I have to run the 2005 champion??? What did I do to deserve this??
I beat him on the tree with a .0135 to a .0237 but in the end I just could not run my number. ran a 10.902 on a 10.82 to his 6.307 on a 6.28. lost by .0445 sec. Needless to say I was happy with the loss.
I buy back for the 2nd round and guess who I get to run this time?? Chris Barrow #9 in points (Jeeze, I sure know how to pick em).
I end up with a big ol red light and. Even if I didn't red light he had me. He ran a 6.766 on a 6.75 with a .010 and I ran a 10.905 on a 10.88.
