        Screw the auto. He has a badass car and has fun driving it still. I have a lot of respect for that. Track times or not, enjoying the car is all that it is about.

        When you stop having fun with it, it sucks.

          autos are boring to drive. my car would have been sold and replaced already if it were an automatic... oh yea.. like the car before my camaro. 1997 firebird with an auto. damn nearly fell asleep driving that car.

            I know he's set on the m5 and why I was just saying that he'd have better times if he went auto. That is all, I love my m5 too and I'm not giving it up till its broken.

              I'm happy w/ my A4.
              He loves his M5.... might as well keep what he likes in the car.... he just needs more practice... his times will come down

                They've been dropping everytime he goes to the track. He's got a great setup, it always pulls a ton of attention as people see it in the pits at the track.

                  this sucks..... no 1/4 mile track near me :(

                    I don't know why people keep telling him to swap in an automatic. I'd very much love to have a 5-spd. Telling him he will run faster at the strip in an automatic is pointless because he already knows that.

                      Obviously never had a properly built automatic with a reverse valve body so you manually shift it :D :D
