      They are faster when the transmission can handle the power...

      I severely considered convertig to an auto, but I'd rather stop racing this car all together, sell it and buy another car before I start racing an auto.

      90% of the market the manual transmission is stronger then the auto, except with v6s.

            Hmm,I'll be getting back into drag racing this spring...I'll want some drag radials and/or LCA's. Already have the stock 16" rims to mount them on (SS rims are ordered.) Maybe a new thermo as well (I like my heat though.) I want to start saving for HPtuners and (in the future) a turbo as well. The car will hit 14s this spring, a longtime goal that I've never met because other **** came up.

                    </font>[/QUOTE]hes right, and the majority of people dont have the money to waste and rebuild it to see if a m5 can handle power. makes me sad to see people swap auto's. if i had a pure drag car i think i could maybe live with an auto. but for a street strip car, i couldnt do it. i think all the time to myself my car wouldnt be half as fun if it wasnt a manual.

                        * try and fix my tc slipping. i think this was the reason i was consitant running 1sec slower this year except a few low 15 runs.
                        * get some suspension work done
                        * maybe a shift kit
                        I'd rather have a 5 speed over my stalled/shift kit A4. Just my preferance.

                            1) Mild weight reduction (I may even give up the stereo :( )
                            2) Mild motor work
                            3) rear/gears (because I fried an eaton locker)
                            4) ... smaller pulley? ...
                            5) more tuning.

                                Manual is faster, because you can wait until your opponent shifts and if you shift later you'll always win! (same applys for nitrous)
