so i heard that when you are at the track, and pulling up to the line, you are only meant to pull up until the first light is lit up, then when the other person pulls up, you light up the second one.
i wasnt doing this when i went, and i feel bad .
do most people do this?
any other good things to know?

I never do that...I get to the line as fast as I can, line up as fast as I can, so I have more time to concentrate on my stall up speed and launch.

besides every 10 times I go to the track

4 times I decimate what I race
5 times I get slaughtered
1 time its actually a close race

Thats why I generally race myself not the guy next to me so much.

i went to the track once, got 12 runs in...
didnt race a single car that ran anything worse than mid-13's.
i raced 3 different cobras
2 different GTOs
a 10 second third gen camaro
an ls1 formula
and a few other ls1's
...

i didnt understand why people would do this, i just want to make sure i do as much as possible to get into the drag racing scene. there are some very knowledgable people, and its nice to be able to talk and learn.

i try not to rush up to the lights. but once your adrenaline gets pumping its kind of hard not to. so most of the time im ready to go by the time the other car gets there.

at my track, if you are the 2nd person to line up and be ready, literaly as soon as both your lights light up the tree starts going, its not even like a 5 sec delay.

same here. i didnt know that the first time i went there either, i got up there, they lit up and the tree started. i was so damn nervous going up to line up anyways, i had like a 2.4 60 and ran like a 14.6. i freaked out and just punched the gas lol. no time for working on my launch.

so now i just hurry up to the line so i have time to get ready.

Its call courtesy staging and in most bracket races you're supposed to do it otherwise you will get an automatic red light. They try to enforce it on TNT nights but its not turned on so it doesnt red light you.

I have heard you have to in bracket racing...

but eh... I don't give a flying feck on TnT, I am usually lined up against a modded out Ls1.

You know you could just light the first bulb and stand on the converter, and once your opponent lights his first bulb, just slightly release the brake to creep you forward enough that your bulb lights. Meh, that's how I always do it when bracket racing.
