What Class?

What class would I be in with 1LE swaybars/Intake modifications? I don't have much on my car but I'm somewhere in the Street Prepared catagory, however when I go to sign up for AutoX they ask for a class like "SRS, SCC, FS..." and the like.

do you have a rear sway bar? springs? did you remove the stock air box? exaust? these are all factors in the placement of the car sounds so far like street prepared be a little more specific ill let u know

You're likely in E Street Prepared (ESP) based on your modification of the rear sway bar and Intake. Exhaust mods and Front sway bar changes are among the changes that allow you to remain in G Stock (GS).

But, the nice part is that it's easier (based on index time == competition) to run in STX (where I run) -- Street Touring X. Instead of being in ESP -- modified V8s, etc, you're in STX, with WRX's, older M3's -- believe me, still somewhat faster, but they won't blow your doors off. Stick in STX, and watch out for mods that would bump you up. Read the discussion somewhere about roll bars vs. SFCs (was it in suspension?).


And run Novice class (STXN) for a while. And ride with folks ... Autocrossing is a true cameraderie sport. Everyone will be glad to help ...

if your running street tires STX is a great class i used to run that but road race compound tires make the diffrence but they but you in gs. enjoy STX and be careful on the mods you do not want to go into esp. have fun

SkaMo is right, STX is a STREET class. Good and bad. Good: You run street tires, with greater than a 150 treadwear rating. Good choices are Falken Azenis, Kuhmo 712's, Comp T/A's (or whatever they're called), Sumitomo HTR-Z's. Don't quote me on these tires, I'm not sure if all of them are above the 150. Anyway. Keeps the cost down. OF course, I run on my daily Eagle GAs and GTII's (read: junk), so i'm not quite in the ballgame all the time.

The bad part is that, well, you're only on street tires. GS folks who are on sticky slicks will have an advantage. Nice catch is that you can bolt on stickies and run ESP, then switch back to streets and run STX if you're so inclined.

All of your mods, afaik, are legal in STX.
