Hey guys, I've started to gain interest in autocross and drifting. I'm curious if there's any good tracks in Texas (specificly in D/FW). If any1 here can give me any good advice on starting autocross I'd appreciate it. I've been drifting alot so I'm getting handling issues down. Thanks -B

If you go to scca.com, they can point you to the regional websites which will list locations and schedules.
Hope you get some track time soon, you'll love it.

motorsport ranch off of 377 is an awesome track. clear of obstacles and you can hit 110 on the straight. http://www.motorsportranch.com/secondary.html

i went to one of their schools. very good class. call rick (817) 571-1101. i wouldn't go to the world speedway though. their top straight will allow 140 and it'd be embarrassing to ride the limiter on that one. :(

they do schools at texas motor speedway. i've been on that track too. it's pretty fun. the banks are seriously steep.

they also hold solo II events at pennington field off of grapevine highway in NRH and at the old airport in mineral wells on occassion.
my first pick is MSR though.
you don't get fast enough to do any drifting in an actual autocross, maybe 30 mph tops. i've been on the high speed tracks and you don't do any drifting there either. if you drift, your car isn't handling right or you're not driving right. drifting means you are not getting traction to the wheels like you should be. it's ok to squeal a bit, but you need to keep all 4 tires at maximum traction.
