• Got to drive a monster yesterday

Sierra Vista autocross. Larry, one of the top guys out here, offers to let me drive a fun run in his fully ESP-modded '95 Formula.

At the time (2 of 4 run groups), he was holding fast time of day - 59's - compared to the 66's I was turning. Great engine, all the ESP mods (Koni DA's, coilovers, big sway bars, Torsen T2R diff, intake/exhaust, and big race rubber).

This car _hauls_!. The T2R lets you put down the power so much earlier coming out of corners without losing the rear. And the Ecsta V700's felt easy to drive on. This car turns in so well I found myself backing off the wheel so I didn't hit cones on the inside of the corner.

Kinda scary in sections - I was going so much faster through a twisty, technical section that I was struggling to spin the steering wheel fast enough to keep the car on the line.

For my first time ever on race rubber, and second time driving a V8 Fbody out there, I turned a 63.2 - which beat the 4 timed runs of his regular co-driver :D

Then he took his fun run in my Firebird (first time driving it), and turned in a 66.3 to beat my time by a few tenths

      Cool...

I've got to get a t2r in mine someday. And try out some race rubber too.

Sounds like you did really good, first time in an unfamiliar car.
